G-Day Game 2013
Stand out players from the Spring Game!WR Rhett McGowan: He's always seems to get open, and at the G-Day Game it was no different - he made big catches in tight spots. He also took a few turns returning punts.WR Jonathan Rumph: The JUCO wide-out looked great on Saturday. He's big too - reminds me a lot of Marlon Brown, physically. He made some tough catches and showed a lot of hand strength, ripping the ball from DB's on separate occasions.OLB James DeLoach: DeLoach continued to impress - when he was in he showed a lot of quickness for someone his size (270 lbs) and was quick to the ball.RB JJ Green: he may not get too much playing time this fall but he really showed his speed at the spring game - he'll be a great option on 3rd down and as a kick returner in the future.Jon Cooper (Saturday Down South) had a good take on the same subject matter here - we agreed on a few of the standouts from the game.Photo from ONLINEATHENS.COM
First-year Georgia defensive line coach Chris Wilson will be coaching up some new defensive tackles in order to replace John Jenkins and Kwame Geathers (graduating and leaving school early, respectively). Jordan Jenkins looks to improve on a stellar freshman year, taking over the rush/outside linebacker role that Jarvis Jones played to an All-American level in 2012. Chase Vassar returns from injury to play the opposite side.

Seth Emerson (Macon Telegraph/Columbus Dispatch) spoke with WR Malcolm Mitchell about incoming freshman Tray Matthews.
"Tray looks really good," Mitchell said. "I think he could (start). Not taking away from anybody else, because anybody else could start as well. I'm not saying who's gonna be the starter, but he definitely could start because he definitely has athletic ability, and the physicality to play safety. I think he's a good player. I don't know how good he is as far as the coverages or anything, but that just comes with time. When everything's put in, then you'll know."
