10 Minute Makeup Look for Busy Bodies

Updated on November 13, 2017

Quick, Easy and Affordable

The Morning Rush

If you're like me, a person who would prefer to have that extra 15 minutes in bed before reality kicks in, then you have come to the right place. I love anything makeup, however when it is 7 am in the morning I would much rather slap something quickly on my face which doesn't take much effort and is doable half asleep. I'm going to explain my everyday makeup routine which is very quick, easy and won't take up all of your time. I will also be using affordable products which won't break the bank, because lets be realistic who can afford to buy a foundation that is £50 every month?

Creating the perfect base

To start I use the Nivea Express Hydration Primer (Currently reduced to £2.39 online at Superdrug). As we start to move into colder weather my skin always gets so dry. I love this primer as it not only helps my makeup to stay on throughout the day, but it keeps my face moisturised throughout the day. I apply it all over my face with my hands and give it a minute to sit before I apply my foundation.

For foundation I use one of my all time favourites: Bourjois Paris Healthy Mix Foundation (RRP £9.99). I apply this with a Sephora buffing brush and work it in circular motions all over my face. The brush helps it to really set into the skin so it will last longer. This foundation is amazing for winter months as it is very hydrating and contains a vitamin mix which helps reduce the appearance of fatigue. This foundation is medium coverage and with the hydrating formula is perfect for dry to normal skin. This foundation can also be used for oily skin and set with a powder to prevent extra oils.

After applying foundation I use Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair 1 under my eyes to brighten. This concealer is so cheap only £4.19 available at Superdrug. The consistency is thick so it covers any dark circles under your eyes and stays on all day. It is one of my all time favourites!

To me eyebrows are the most important part of a makeup look as I feel as if it frames your face and starts to bring your look together. Eyebrows can take quite a while if you're trying to get them perfect.I use the Kiko Eyebrow Marker (£5.90) and it is so easy to use. It's literally like drawing your eyebrows with a pen. I start from the end of my brow and work my way to the front of my brow. I can do a full post in detail about how do my eyebrows, let me know!

I like to tidy my brows up by using my concealer on a flat brush and just make them straight. You don't have to do this step but it helps make your eyebrows look more clean and tidy.

To set my brows in place all day long I use the Maybelline Brow Mascara in transparent. You can buy the eyebrow masacra in colours also. I brush this through my brows to make sure they are set in place looking how I want them too!

Bringing your face to life

I like to add a bit of colour and bronze to my face so it isn't just one colour. But before I do this I set my face with the Rimmel London Match Perfection Loose Powder in Translucent. I dust this over my face with a big powder brush to help my makeup last longer. On a rushed morning I don't like to bake my concealer as it takes more time, if you would like to find out more about the baking craze I can do a post on that.

I like to bronze my face so it looks more natural. I use the Makeup Revolution Ultra Pro Glow Palette. I use the bronze shade on the end and blend this just under my cheek bones so it acts as both a contour and bronzer. I also LOVE dusting this over my temples and forehead where the sun would naturally hit my face. It is a shimmery bronzer so it contains gold flecks which bring a lovely dewy look to the face.

I then use another Revolution Blush Palette. I use the peach shimmery blush on the apples of my cheeks, where my face would naturally blush. I then use the highlight from the Ultra Palette and it will be obvious which ones I use. I use a big fan brush and put this on the tops of my cheek bones.

I use the Loreal Paris False Lash Superstar Mascara. This has to be my favourite mascara ever!! It is amazing and make my lashes so long and adds loads of volume. It contains two ends, one end is a white mascara which prepares the lashes before applying the black mascara. I apply one coat of the white mascara and the one coat of the black mascara straight after. You can apply more coats if you want a more full on look.

Final Touch

If you want you can leave the look there and you're finished. I like to add a bit of colour to the lips. I use the Bourjois Paris Rouge Edition Souffle de Velvet in the shade 07 Plum plum pidou. Seriously who comes up with these names they are hard to type. This is a thick liquid lipstick texture which stays quite dewy. However I don't apply this in a thick layer. I dab a little on my lips and blend it in to give more of a pink colour.

The photo below shows the difference between applying the colour in a thick layer and a little dab blended.

So this is my finished step by step on my 10 minute makeup. With practice you can do this look quicker and quicker. I hope this is helpful to anyone who reads and let me know of any other beauty related topics you would like me to post about.
