3D Butterfly Tattoos

Updated on January 12, 2012

Unique Tattoos, 3D is the Way to go

If you are looking to get a tattoo that is unique and unusual, you should get a 3D tattoo. You definitely get the wow factor when you have a 3D tattoo. These tattoos have become quite popular in the last several years. A lot times, most tattoo parlors don't have much in the department of 3D tattoo pictures. This leaves you having to search and find them yourself. If you're going to get a butterfly, why not get one that looks like it's landed on you. Or for guys, a spider or scorpion that looks like it's crawling on you ! It will make people do a double take and people who aren't really into getting ink think that 3D tattoos are cool !

Finding 3D Tattoos

If you have a good tattoo artist, they can turn pretty much anything you may desire to be three dimensional. If you have an idea of what you would like but can't find a picture to take to your artist, just go in and tell them your idea and they will draw it up and give you an estimate on the cost for your tattoo.

Getting Tattoos in the Summer Time

One thing to remember, most people get tattoos during the Summer months and you want to make sure that your timing is right for getting your tattoo. What I mean is, a lot of people don't think of the fact that you can't go in water like pools or lakes until your tattoo is healed and the scab has fallen off. You also can't expose your tattoo to the sun while it is healing. If you do, it will cause your tattoo to burn and fade out the ink before it's fully set into the skin which happens through the healing process.

What to Put on a New Tattoo

Make sure to apply the cream 3-4 times a day. Most people are told to use A&D Ointment, which is OK, but I would alternate it with unscented lotion. When I got my last tattoo, my artist told me to use unscented lotion instead of the A&D because the A&D coats the tattoo even if put on lightly because it's thick. A new tattoo needs air to heal and the unscented lotion will absorb right into the tattoo while moisturizing yet allowing it to breathe and heal quicker.
