I am a health freak and curious about things that help in living well. I appreciate aesthetics, love to gain and share good knowledge.

Hair Care

Most often we are so busy in our lives that we don't give attention to what we are applying to our hair. In our daily routine we use so many products on hair for hair care, styling, color and what not. Seldom we stop and see if they are actually doing good or bad to our hair. One should always keep an eye on good ( read excellent ) products and use them in rotation for our hair needs. What i do is research the best possible available product that works, keep using it and keep my eyes open for next best product if and when i find it i put that in rotation with what i was previously using. That way we are less likely to fall prey for bad products. Here are a few products that i came across and really liked everything about them.

Bhave Rescue Intense Repair Shampoo

Shampoo has one of the most advanced and good ingredients list. I don't know why it is not as popular as it should be. It boasts of revolutionary keratin technology that can bind and penetrate the most severely damaged hair, rebuilding the internal structure and restoring strength, elasticity and shine previously thought to be unrecoverable. It is a boon for both damaged and fully healthy hair. The keratin ingredient used in shampoo is replicine functional keratin and not hydrolized keratin proteins. Main difference between the two being quality of keratin with replicine functional keratin being the most purest form of keratin protein available as an ingredient used in hair products where as hydrolized protein is inferior in quality effected mainly by processing thus not as beneficial as the replicine.

Shampoo claims to the following benefits and backs up to each one of them.

  • rescues severely damaged hair
  • renews body, shine and condition
  • protects from further damage
  • less breakage
  • improvement in shine
  • boost in color symmetry

If you Heat style your hair more often then this is excellent to be used with conditioner in hair wash before styling. That way the keratin protein will bind to your hair and form a protection layer to protect them from heat. If you want to further add a protection layer go for a good heat protectant product just before styling. These steps will make a lot of difference in your hair health, even if you heat style your hair daily.

Keranique Thickening And Texturizing Mousse

Another product with amino acids for nourishing hair. This mousse is best for hair styling as it adds texture to hair which will help hair hold its style in place. Better than hair mousse products filled with toxins ( majority of them ), by looking at ingredients on huge number of products i was wondering if it is possible to make a product without them. Then i had a look at this one and grabbed by looking at its ingredients, it turned out to be a charmer. Very good hair styling product. It has fragrance though, but still way better than other toxic hair mousses.

Ingredients : Water, Propylene Glycol, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine Lactate, Glycerin, PVP/VA Copolymer, Polyquaternium-55, Polysorbate 20, TEA-Lauroyl Keratin Amino Acids, Silk Amino Acids, Keratin Amino Acids, Collagen Amino Acids, Fragrance, Menthol, Peppermint (Mentha Piperita) Oil, Phenoxyethanol.

Dominican Magic Thermal Protector Spray

Best ingredients for a heat protectant would be silicones, though they form build up ( if not clarified monthly ) but that how they work by coating hair strands and saving them from heat damage to a large extent. It has got 4 silicones in first 5 ingredients which is as good as it can be. Vitamin E and fragrance again still better than others out there.

Ingredients: Cyclotetrasiloxane, Isododecane, Phenyl Trimethicone, Fragrance (Parfum), Aminopropyl Dimethicone, alpha tocepherol acetate (vitamin E).

PRICE : $25
