7 Tips to Using Hard Wax
Hard wax, in its basic form, refers to a strain of wax used to remove hair present on the hands and the legs. As opposed to soft wax, hard wax doesn't need to be used with items such as pellon strip and muslin to make it effective.
This write up highlights 7 key tips to using hard wax. Read on.
1. Ascertain skin isn't allergic
It's always a good idea to test a part of the skin you'd want to shave some hours before the actual shaving. By testing out, you'd be certain that your skin isn't allergic to the wax.
2. Wax before taking a shower
Which is the best time to wax out? Before a shower or later on when you are fresh? Well, starting with a warm shower softens your skin and, as a result, the skin becomes more irritable and susceptible to getting bruised.
Warm water also makes it hard for dead cells to come out during the waxing process as the skin overlay soft.
3. Heat the wax briefly before use
Warming the wax makes gooey and thus easy to apply on the surface. It also grips on the hairs making it easy to pull them off later when the wax has already hardened off.
4. Apply some oil before applying a layer of wax
Oil creates a necessary lipid barrier and makes the removal of wax easier and less painful. Ensure you don't use too thick a layer of oil to ensure the wax sticks on the surface and easily grips the hairs.
5. Use a cotton ball or spatula to clean off the wax.
6. Take a shower after waxing
