A Review of Good Skin DermCare Products

Updated on August 23, 2012

I was browsing my local Kohl's department store when I ran across their beauty section. Being fan of the drug store cosmetics I never dreamed of purchasing any type of facial cleansing system here. I was immediately attracted to the light teal and white packaged box containing four items. The Good Start Kit,for basic care of oily skin. It was the only one left so it must be good! I took it home and tried it out!

A quick review of the website did not reveal much about the product's history.  The Good Skin's labs page states Good Skin was established in 2007. "Formulated from doctors just for you". The logo is a little hokey but lets see what else the site has to offer. The site definitely boasts it's products., Describing in detail how the products are color coordinated. Good Skin is specially sold at Kohl's Department stores. There is a lot of products to choose from.

Acne Prone skin

As I mentioned before all of the Good Skin Productsare separated into treating skin types.  Acne Prone skins is the first grouping of products.  Good Skin products offer a wide selection of ways to treat your acne prone skin.  I picked up the Acne prone Good Start Cleanse kit. This kit promises to keep you in supply for two weeks.  The kit consists of Clean Skin Foaming Cleanser, Clean skin Oil Free lotion, instant lightening eye cream, and polished skin gentle exfoliator.  This supply was well under 20 dollars so I decided to give it a go.

There are other products under the Acne Prone Skin line too.  There is a purifying toner, a makeup and a product called Mattify.  It keeps your skin from becoming so shiney with oils.

Dull and aging skin

There are several products  from the Good Skin Dermcare line.  They offer a moisturizer called All Firm.  It states it boosts skin strengthening collagen.  There is a liquid foundation , spot treatment and sunscreen.  Also offered in this line is the product All Firm rebuilding serum.  The lightweight formula states it rejuvenates skin and protects from environmental stressors.

Red and Irritated Skin

This product is found in nifty green packaging.  It offers toner, spot treatment, sunscreen and concealer and moisturizer.  All products claim to sooth red and irritated skin.

Severely Dry Skin

Good Skin Dermcare offer one product for extremely dry skin.  It is the all hydrated moisture cream.  It's claim is to lock in moisture and hydrating and to rebuild your skins protective barrier.

Something for all skin types

If you do not have any special skin problems, Good Skin still has you covered.  Form combination skin to oily skin there are products for you to use.  For combination skin  Good Skin reccomends  you use the Perfect balance cleanser and moisturizer.  For Dry skin use the Soft Skin Creamy Cleanser and the Soft Skin Moisture Cream.  For oily skin use the Clean Skin foaming cleanser and the Clean Skin moisturizer.

Straight from the good Skin Labs comes there newest creation.  It is the Triaktiline Total Face Instant Line Reducing Moisturizer.  Yes it is a mouthful but does it work?  I found the packaging to be a little amusing because the words Instant Line reducing moisturizer was highlighted in yellow right on the tube!  Along this same line they offer  Filexrta Facial Revolumizing treatment, Sculptinex instant Re-sculpting face treatment, smooth 365, which states you are going to look younger instantly and Lucimen, and overnight skin brightener.  Wow  a lot of products that have a lot of claims!  I am always very skeptical about products to provide an overnight result!  Interesting names for the products too.  All of these prodcuts I have mentioned are around 42 dollars per item.

As I told you before I bought the acne Good Start Kit.  After one use I could feel a little difference my skin.  I Am always skeptical about larger than life claims about overnight transformations.  But I might give this one a shot.   As the year goes on I will try these products one at a time and let you know what the outcome is.  If you have any experiences with this product, good or bad please leave a comment below!

Why did you discontinue the Good Skin Polished skin gentle exfoliator and Good Skin All Calm Creamy Cleanser? I have been using them since they came out. It is the only thing that works on my sensitive skin. I'm almost 50 and people always stopped me to ask about my skin and what I use on it. Now I can't find it anywhere! Please bring it back. The new line irritates my skin!
