Being A Gentleman, How To Look and Feel Good
In my previous hub, we talked about chivalry and a gentleman and how it is related. And in this hub, we take a step ahead and begin our journey to being a gentleman.
A gentleman takes care of his appearance while maintaining good hygiene. Lets get started and see what you can do to be a gentleman.
When you get up in the morning the first thing you do is wash your face with a soap free cleanser with lukewarm water. This opens up the pores in your skin and cleanses the dirt and oil that accumulates due to excess secretion of sebum(your body’s built in moisturizer). In addition it softens your skin and facial hair, and makes you less susceptible burns. I would also recommend using a pre-shave crème or oil, but is not really necessary. You can then go on and enjoy a smooth shave.
But yes, the secret lies in the way you shave. Make sure you rinse your razor blade in warm running water, and shake it a little to remove the hair stuck in the blade. You may even try patting your razor against the washbasin. I personally do the later; it removes most of the hair on the blade and reserves my energy to shake some other personal things. After you have got the perfect shave, it’s time for some moisturizing. You may apply any moisturizer except the one which contains alcohol.
And all my friends with oil skin, I would suggest you don’t have to do applya moisturizer every other day; your body produces enough oil to protect itself. You should rather take a cloth and dip it in some cool water and dab it on your face. This would close all the open pores, and your skin becomes firm.
A gentleman in addition to doing the above exfoliates his skin once or twice a week, which removes dead skin and gives his face a refreshing look.
Finished shaving, aaargh... Your stomach hurt’s? Go, go, go...
Now that you have finished shaving and ___ why not take a shower? A gentleman always does so and so should you. Just make sure, you use the soap bar, according to your skin types, and a shampoo which gives volume and body to your hair. And yes, it should be an anti-dandruff shampoo. After all the hard work to look a well groomed man, you wouldn’t want pieces of snow flying around your head.
The man’s done a lot, and now you are ready to step out of the house. But wait, where are your clothes? A gentleman, never walks around the street naked. So lets have a look into your wardrobe.
I can see a lot of jeans, shirt, t-shirt, and formal wear. Whatever you wear has to be classy. I would say a Levis 501 Jeans combined with a white t-shirt is classy and trendy and is a must have. And if it’s business, it has to be a suite, a navy blue or a black suite combined with a white shirt resembles your sharpness. And sharp is attractive.
While choosing your clothes of occasion, it should be your choice. But stick to the basic of choosing the right color combination, wear in accordance with the occasion, and wear clothes that fit. And the most important thing, rebel and rebel but no violation of the most basic rules of fashion and you will create a signature style of your own.
Get yourself a Rayban glass, wayfarers that fit your face size; a flannel shirt and a chronograph watch and you can just be the perfect gentleman. Well, that’s at least what I own, and people cant just stop admiring me.
And last but not the least, your smell. Women tend to recognize men they like by their smell. And if that’s what SHE likes, you better get perfect with this or don’t blame me if you suffer. Don’t overuse or bath yourself in a cologne, keep it 5 inches(15 cm) away from your body and spray, just a little. Keep a lot of different cologne and deodorants so that the masses don’t start recognizing you as a smell-ably broke.
Make it a routine habit to look after yourself and see your confidence shoot up to the skies. And make yourself feel good.
In my next hub, I would talk about the LADY LOVE AND A GENTLEMANS BEHAVIOUR, so keep coming back. Till then GoodBye and have a nice day.
