Best Acne Treatment: Neutrogena Advanced Solutions

Updated on August 1, 2009

This is Part 1 in a series in search of the best acne treatment available on the market today. We will be looking at Neutrogena Advanced Solutions Complete Acne Therapy System. This is a 4 Star rated product on Amazon at the time of this writing, so I think it warrants our attention.

Best acne treatment?

Benefits of Neutrogena Advanced Acne Treatment

One reason right off the bat why this might be the best acne treatment is because it utilizes both benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid. Many people who have been around the block with acne for awhile report that nothing works like benzoyl peroxide. They also typically say that you need at least a 2.5% concentration of this chemical in order for it to work its magic. I’m not sure what percentage Neutrogena is using in their Advanced Solutions offering, but I would think it’s somewhere on the Amazon page which I have linked here.

In terms of salicylic acid: this is known as one of the best acne treatments other than benzoyl peroxide. It has a drying effect on the acne and I think it basically sucks all the moisture out of the affected areas so that your infection can’t stay alive anymore. (It is after all, nothing more than an overzealous build-up of oily liquid embedding itself in your face or elsewhere on the body.) So this salicylic acid content makes me think doubly more of Advanced Solutions. Good job Neutrogena!

This is going to retail for about half of what its competitor ProActiv goes for. Yes, Proactiv is that stuff you see celebrities like Jessica Simpson hawking on late night TV. It really seems to be a deal, I must say. Another nice thing about this candidate for best acne treatment is that it does not involve a bunch of steps like some other treatments. You basically just wash your face and apply it. I think they talk about purify and moisturize if I’m not mistaken.

The basic thing is always you have to try some different products out if you have not had success getting rid of acne yet. There certainly are a lot of products out there, even for acne scar removal, so you would think at least some of them would work better than others for any given individual.

I have given my thumbs up to the dual existence of benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid in the Neutrogena Advanced acne solutions we are profiling here. This is probably a good starting point for people suffering with the problem. What I really suggest is reading some of the reviews on Amazon to get people’s first-hand experience with using this topical solution.
