Top Watches under £200

Updated on July 21, 2016

Watches are my passion, it has to be said! However, there are so many wonderful watches, that can be bought for less than one might expect. It is no longer necessary to spend a small fortune on a watch, to purchase one with style, durability and class. Consequently I have composed (and intend to add to) a list of some of the best ones available under £200 or $300, to prove this point.

1) G Shock: Master of G

I've always loved the style of G-Shocks, combining style with lots of functions that make versatile, almost unbreakable, watches; and if you share my passions too, feel free to look at my other G Shock watches, click here and here for them! The Master of G range is seemingly the most luxury set of watches in the Casio G Shock brand and it comprises 11 different watches, in 4 different styles (Frogman, Riseman, Gulfman and Mudman).

The one I have chosen is G9300er-5, which boasts a thermometer, digital compass, and 200m water resistance and forms part of the Mudman Collection. It truly is cool and boasts features that standard watches simply cannot match. I also really like the style it provides: bold, cool and edgy.

The brand itself is also quite famous, worn on a whole host of famous wrists: Justin Bieber, Eminem and Prince Harry to name but a few. It is omnipresent in society, they are everywhere on the streets of both London and New York, giving it its deserved popularity.

2) Diesel: Super Bad Ass

Watches don't get much bigger or bolder than this one, hence it had to be included in this list. The watch in question is the Diesel Super Bad Ass, in Black Leather (DZ7193), however I prefer the Brown Leather version (DZ7246), but with 11 different colour variations, including white, red and also a stainless steel bracelet version too. The watch boasts a massive 57mm dial and this makes it arguable the largest watch available to purchase in this price range; it's massive. It looks absolutely fantastic and I would deeply love to possess one. Due to its size the dial has lots of room to include a multitude of features: it has the ability to keep the time in four places at once, due to the sheer number of dials, including a digital dial at 6 o'clock, a chronograph and also a date by the 3 o'clock marker. The watch is stylish and will make an excellent addition to anyone's collection.

3) Emporio Armani AR0385

Emporio Armani Watches are visible everywhere and have increased massively in popularity in recent years, which is deserved in my opinion. I am not surprised, due to their sophisticated and iconic look whilst also being sold at relatively affordable prices. The brand is representative of stylish, understated and comfortable wristwatches. The one I have chosen is Emporio Armani's classic leather chronograph model AR0835, which I proudly own and is constantly subjected to a barrage of complements. This watch is undeniably elegant and it stands out for the unconventional positioning of the chronograph dials and the contrast of the dial’s colours: black and white. To add to the feel of luxury, Armani have replaced the leather buckle strap with a deployment buckle, which I think is an excellent addition. This Japanese quartz dress watch boasts the aforementioned uncommon two-dial chronograph with a sub dial for continuous seconds and a sub dial for 60-minutes. The watch hands, which are two tone silver, can be seen in the dark as they are luminous. Close to the four o'clock marker, the watch has a date dial in addition to all the features above, as well as being water resistant to 165 feet or 50 metres.
