Brazilian Blowout

Updated on April 28, 2010

Brazilian Blowout Hair Treatment

Brazilian Blowout is different from Japense straightening (hair straightening) . Brazilian blowout does not completely straighten the hair, and let the hair with plenty of volume and body. The hair can still be styled as curly or wavy hair.

The Brazilian Blowout does not use harsh chemicals like formaldehyde, and no carcinogenic chemicals.

Brazilian Blowout process includes washing hair with clarifying shampoo, and then the Brazilian Blowout solutions are applid and the hair is dried. After the hair is dry, we flat iron the hair to seal in the solutiion, rinse the solution and then apply a hair conditioner mask and then blow dry the hair.

The entire Brazilian Blowout treatment takes about 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the length of the hair. Brazilian Blowout uses super-nutrient complex and polymer system and works by improving the condition of the hair by creating protective protein layer around the hair shaft to eliminate frizz and smooth the cuticle of haior.

The benefits of Brazilian Blowout Hair Treatment is that it gives everyone the ability to have “wash and wear” hair, meaning now people have the freedom to enjoy activities they want without worrying that their hair maybe wet and don’t have to spend an hour redoing their hair. You can work out, exercise, swim, without worrying that your hair will look bad, because you will be able to make it look great in 15 minutes with a simple blow-dry.

Brazilian Blowout lasts for up to three months and the treatment simply washes away over time and then your hair returns to its normal state.

Brazilian Blowout treatment normally costs about $350 and it is safe for all hair types.

that's so freaking expensive! I am brazilian and I do the blowout every two or three months, but I only pay R$ 80,00 (about $40). 350 is just too much.

my hair looks great after having the BB done! I have to do only twice a year. So I think that if you don't do that often, it won't harm your health.

After many months of research i finally did this whilst travelling in Australia

The Brazilian Blowout at Marc Azzi hair, it was amazing, my hair has no frizz and no fuzz, i cannot believe it, i wish i had it done years ago.

First off, I never post on these things, but I had the BB done yesterday (and have showered twice since then) and for the first time in my life, I love my hair. The process is quick (mine took 40-45 min, but my hair is not thick) and the solution smells flowery, almost like a hand lotion. Also, there was no odor during the straightening process and my eyes did not burn. My hair was extremely curly and frizzy and now it is wavy with NO FRIZZ. Again, if your goal is straight hair the BB will not do that. Also, my hair also used to fall out a lot (I even went to the doctor because of the severity of it) but in the past two days I have not had to clean out the shower drain (for the first time in years!) I highly recommend trying it, and I guarantee you will be hooked. I have only had it for two days and I am already planning on getting the treatment done again.

Have you heard of their new product, Brazilian Blowout ZERO?

They have a video about it on their website at

They also have a FAQ here:

      Has anyone tried this yet?

I just recieved my second Brazilian Blowout and I still love it! I have naturally very curly hair and with it being thing, it frizzes very easily. With the Brazilian I still get to keep my curls just without crazy frizz, and I when I straighten it, it takes half the time to blow dry and my hair comes out shiny and smooth.

As far as the fumes that other posts on here have complained about, I haven't encountered any problems. I don't know if some people are getting a different Brazilian product or there isn't enough ventilation where it's being done, but make sure it's the kind that comes in a bronze/brown bottle and you get it done by someone who is specifically certified to do the treatment-not just any hairstylist.

I was considering getting this done, but after research I decided not to. You should read the pasted links. Brazilian Blowout DOES contain formaldehyde. You can't just read about a product from the site that sells it....they will lie and mislead to sell it. Read reviews.

I work with a girl who keeps saying she will be getting one done for $150. All she needs to do is go to the store, get VO5 Hot Oil treatment. SAVINGS OF OVER $120!!! Wow... there's a scary thought... With the economy the way it STILL is nowadays... who gives a rat's posterior HOW STRAIGHT your hair is!? Seriously people! If you want straight hair, get a reverse perm done! It works! The chemicals are less harsh and will NOT cause cancer! I've been doing hair for over twenty years and I refuse to do this procedure! I can handle perm solutions without an asthma flareup but that's it. I'd rather be able to breathe and stay healthy than make a quick buck!!!

I just had this done in Mobile AL. For all of you that say it did not work, or it burned your eyes, you could not breath… you must not have gotten the real thing done by a certified stylist.

My hair came out wonderful, no burning eyes, no smell, nothing about the process was uncomfortable. I love my hair for the first time in 47 years !!!! Will be doing this treatment again. Be sure you go to a certified Brazilian Blowout salon. Go on their web site and do the salon locator.

I can't stop getting this treatment done its amazing. I would suggest going to a salon with a good ventilation system. In San Diego I use Hair Delight (858) 367-9090 their ventilation system is like a jet motor.

I have been a hair dresser for 22 years an have never felt like I couldn't breath around any produts, untill this stuff came out. I wasn't even awere of it untill one day I was in my salon roommates studio, I was in there for 5 min when I started to weeze and cough!! I thought I was going to pass out.He had done the BB on Sat and I was off, this was on Mon. So I went into my studio and sat down within 5 min I was feeling better, if I even come close to his room I feel a heavyness on my chest. These gasses stay in the air for days even weeks after the service has been done!! It's NOT safe. See the thing people don't realize is that your lungs don't recover from damage like a broken bone! They stay damaged and you will regreat it when your older.

Don't do these services for the money, cause in the long run it don't matter how much money you have or have made from this, you CAN'T get your health back, or co-workers health. I may have to take a step back from doing hair untill they outlaw this product! and they will outlaw it, Please be smart and think about your health.

      It's TRUE!!!!!!

Products which promise to straighten your hair naturally, saying it has no chemical composition in is lying. All these products have formaldehyde ....

if you like the result so much, copy the formula from the internet. That's what many Brazilians do, once that these products are prohibited in Brazil.

It's so simple and cheap that when you guys see the formula will be shocked!!!!!!!

      ps: sorry my poor English...

This product has been BANNED in other countries, including Brazil from where is gets it's name, and this because it incorporates CANCER CAUSING agents in it's formula!! Shop owners are being lured thenmselves into purchasing the product for the possibility of having even bigger profits yet are given NO knowledge of the facts concerning it's ingredients. Many buy it out of ignorance THEN, when they find out the truth, the product is non-returnable!! Being STUCK with it, they are now trying to get their investment back by pushing this garbage product on unknowing consumers!

Anyone who recommends this product is likely a hairdresser who does not care about the products history, and is making a LOT of money on people who also are unaware!! STAY AWAY...STAY AWAY...STAY AWAY!!!!!

BEWARE OF THIS PRODUCT!!! I have just had a conversation with a representative of the Brazilian Blowout. I told her that I work in a salon where there are stylist that use the product and that I have been experiencing symptoms that are related to that of Glutaraldehyde or aldehyde exposure such as dizziness, burning eyes, heavy breathing, wheezing…I asked her for a complete list of the ingredients and she mentioned that she is unable to give out the list and said multiple times that there are no aldehydes or products that turn into aldehydes. I asked her how she knew that for sure. Her response was “because I believe in my company.” I told her that so your telling me that you don’t know for sure. Also you were “told” there are no aldehydes so you “believe” it. Furthermore I mentioned that you yourself have not seen the ingredient list, therefore can’t say for sure that there are no aldehydes in the product? She answered yes. Cosmetic companies can “say” whatever they want because they are very loosely regulated, if at all. BEWARE OF THIS PRODUCT!!!!

I've had the BB done TWICE to my hair and is it addicting! It makes my curly ethnic-looking hair 100% straight and frizz free! it truly is wash and go hair! Cuts your get ready time in half, and I absolutely reccommend it!

Interesting. I used to have my hair Japanese straightened every spring until i was just tired of spending the money on it. My hair was always pin straight from it though and it lasted much longer. This is less expensive though and it seems to take less time to do so those are definite benefits!
