China Glaze: Wicked

This time of year is cake for any nail artists, professional and aspiring alike. The dark colors come out to play, and things like bloody splatters on your nails aren't only acceptable, they're expected amongst the people who know you best.

China Glaze has come out with their annual Fall/Halloween inspired nail lacquer set, and for 2012, they're calling it "Wicked".

Just like the year before, this set features six new polishes, all in season appropriate hues.

Roguish Red is, in a word, spicy! Nothing too scary about this color which would be perfect for a good witch, and even better for a bad witch. The closest match to another China Glaze shade is Winter Berry, with this one being just a bit lighter.

Glitter Goblin is the more colorful and intense glitter in the 2012 China Glaze Wicked set. Think pumpkin spice and you've got a good idea of how this will look on your nails. Layer this over black to really make the warm orange pop ever so slightly. Layer it over red or orange and then go hit the nearest pumpkin patch, because you're totally ready.

Make A Spectacle is Halloween's answer to China Glaze Snow Globe. Loaded with large hex smaller glitters, it's suspended in a greenish milky base. Slather on one coat or two over dark colors, and enjoy the eerie green tint.

Cast A Spell is a dark, mossy green lacquer with glitter that I think you could get away with wearing through the entire holiday season. There's no blue in Cast A Spell, just hints of yellow.

Bizarre Blurple is the royal shade of this series. Fittingly dark. In the sun you'll be able to see just how much blue shows up in this dark nail polish. Paired with Make A Spectacle, perhaps?

Immortal is it gray, is it blue, is it green? Well, depends on how well your spooktacular dwelling is lit! Immortal also has a nice supply of shimmering glitter in the polish. It does harken to images of gravestones in a cemetery.

This collection has a little more variety than last years. The red and purple are nice touches, although some may miss not getting a bottle of glow in the dark nail polish.

Happy Halloween!
