The Best Hair Straighteners on a Budget

Updated on June 23, 2014

I love having straight hair. It's easier to work with, smoother, and attractive. I have naturally straight-ish hair however I straighten it when I want a more finished look. Like anybody who has had a hair straightner, I have planned on using mine one morning only to find out it wouldn't turn on. If this has happened to you, I'm sure you want a replacement ASAP just like me, however trying to find a hair straightner can be a daunting task. I hope this article makes it a bit easier.

Remington Wet 2 Straight Iron

Most hair straighteners require you hair to already be dry before use to obtain the best results, however the Remington Wet 2 Straight Iron can be used perfectly with wet hair. It includes over 30 heat settings with a digital adjuster and has vents to release the moisture from your hair while it is straightening. The 2" plates heat up to 400 degrees in 30 seconds to insure maximum straightening potential. This straightener also has an automatic turn-off feature after 60 minutes of being on so you don't have to worry if you left your hair straightener plugged in all day. This hair straightner is perfect if you are always on-the-go and hate having to wait until your hair drys before being able to straighten it.

The "Classic" Chi

Most women have heard praises about Chi although it has a notorious reputation for being an expensive brand because it once was; however, you can now purchase a Chi for about $55. The Chi is a revered hair straightener brand for a reason. The 1" plates heat up to 400°F insuring you get the straightest hair possible and that it will stay straight all day. Also the Chi is made to last. I have personally only had 2 Chis in the past 5 years and they were worth every penny, furthermore many models include a manufacturers warranty at purchase..

Chi also has an amazing line of hair styling products such as heat protector sprays and moisturizers. I recommend using some of these products to get the best results while straightening your hair and to protect your hair from heat related damage.

BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Straightening Iron

The BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Straightening Iron isn't a very well known hair straightener however it has a lot to offer. While it may be a bit pricey its titanium plates ranging from 1-1 3/4 inch heat up to 450 degrees which makes straightening any type of hair a breeze. Although this is the priciest hair straightener on the list it is also the hottest and has an extremely loyal customer base who may in the future give Chi some serious competition in the hair straightener line of business. Also this hair straightener comes in a cute baby blue color.
