Clip in Hair Extensions - Types of Hair Extensions

Updated on July 26, 2011

Clip on Hair Extensions

I was totally unaware of the vast amount of different hair extensions that available for women until I recently undertook a job designing a website for a client of mine and it has inspired me to write this informative hub for any ladies surfing the web trying to decide which clip on hair extensions are best suited to them.

I have researched the 5 most popular styles at the present time in the fashion world and found the best creative commons images to give you an idea of how stylish you could look wearing them!

Real Hair Extensions

Most women want to look as authentic as possible and not buy cheap alternatives, real hair extensions is the best option to choose and getting them applied by a trained hairdresser is also a wise move.

Women with Afro-American hair can get a variety of styles that are popular amongst celebrities and models, these even have specific brand names such as 'Colorado girl' which is a drawstring pony-tail. Other hair extensions include invisible hair line's to help you achieve a youthful look and are safe for curling iron's which are important for Afro hair.

It is a really sophisticated art-form that includes charts with various shade's separated by codes, for example, code 'F1B/33/130' may represent a style that includes blonde highlights or streaks.

Clip in Human Hair Extensions

One thing we have all heard about is clip in human hair extensions, these are particularly desirable because nobody can tell it is not your own hair. Although with genuine products come hefty prices, full head sets will often set you back at least a hundred bucks but did find one website that offers competitive prices on these types of clip in hair extensions called Afro-World.

Another style that has grown in immense popularity of late with musical artists such as Fergie from the Black-Eyed-Pea's flaunting it is the 'Feather hair extensions', this is applied using the same method as the regular clip in hair extensions but obviously colored feathers are added instead and were originally inspired by other feather earring type jewelry.

Remi Hair Extensions

Amongst the popular designer clip in hair extensions are the brand name 'Remi', people search for 'Remy hair extensions' almost ten thousand times a month according to Google search tool even though they haven't spelled the trademark name properly!

There are different types of Remy hair, you can buy the luxury designer product which is pictured to the right, the most expensive Indian human extension Remy hair. This even includes the outer most cuticle layer which helps to keep the hair flowing in a straight direction and appearing natural.

Other cheap versions or non-Remy hair can cause tangling at the root and all the cuticles do not point in the same direction, resulting in a look that is not quality. I suggest checking out Remy hair extensions at the website I mentioned earlier.

Jessica Simpson Hair Extensions

Everybody is raving on about how good Jessica Simpson hair extensions look, of course buying replica hair extensions that claim to be the same quality as hers has become the latest business, however you must bare in mind when you buy these 'Are they going to be the same quality?'

Jessica employs a experienced hair stylist to implant her hair extensions called Ken Paves, she pays him 'X' amount of dollars to achieve a look nobody else will have.
