Gold stuff

Updated on July 11, 2010

One of the first cultures to use gold as fashion was a place centered into today as Eastern Europe, in 4000 B.C. It was mined in the near by mountains, such as Mount Pangaion. Later in history gold would be used as a form of currency, and then it would become very valuable. Very valuable to where people would pay top dollar for a piece of gold no size that from your fingernail. Many would play around with gold and create things from it, anywhere from a toothbrush, to a bathroom. There are things that have been made out of solid gold, and then there's gold plated where they spray gold on to the surface of something, but it's still gold.

Gold Plated Things

Many things can be gold plated, but there are only a few cool things that are worth showing people, like an ipod, or a car, and even a laptop.

Price for gold plated

The car itself is worth around 48,000, then the gold plate  the entire car  and your total price around 60 to 70 thousand. It's not that expensive to gold plate an entire car, maybe around 10 to 20 grand depending on the size, and the company that's doing it for you. The macbook, costs 1,000, and then gold plate it for around 1,000 to 1,500, so total of about 2 to 3 grand. The ipod touch looks like a nice thing to have, but do you want it or need it? It's just a toy that will get boring eventually. In the end you can gold plate almost anything that's metal, but everything comes with a price.

Solid Gold

This is everyone's favorite, since its all gold, which weighs a ton (it just weighs a lot), and it's worth a lot of money and i mean a lot of money. One ounce of gold costs you around $1,220 as of June 19, 2010. An ounce of gold weighs as much as anything that weighs about an ounce or a hand full of peanuts. It's like the riddle, which weighs more a pound of feathers or a pound of gold? It's seems like clear question, the gold weighs more, but no, that's not true at all. Gold is weighed in troy ounces and feathers are weighed in avoirdupois ounces. The troy weight equals 12 ounces to a pound, and then the avoirdupois ounces equals to 16 ounces to a pound. In the end the pound of feathers (16 ounces) weighs more than the pound of gold (12 ounces), go figure. Here are some cool things made from solid gold.

Gold Bathroom

Solid gold price

The brick weighs about 28 pounds equvilant to about a little over weight puppy, but costs around $336,400. So if you happen to have one laying around your home then feel free to send it to me. Now the gold coin is being sold this month (June 25, 2010), it's face value 1 million dollars but they plan it's going to sell for 4. It weighs 220 pounds and it doesn't fit in your pocket. My favorite the gold bathroom, it was built by a jewerly store to attracte custormers to buy. People had to spend at least $128 to use the bathroom, or just go in it and look. They costed the jewerly store about 3.8 million US dollars, and everything is made out of solid 24-gold, from the toilet, to the sink. The person in the picture was the idea man, he died in October 2008, but was well known for spending a lot of money.
