Natural Face Scrub Recipe

  • 1 1/2 to 2 tbsp sugar
  • Tbsp organic virgin coconut oil
  • tsp lime or lemon juice with some zest.

Note: Make sure everything you use is organic. Also make sure your utensils are either glass or ceramic. It is also very important to sanitize the items you are going to use to store, and make your scrub. Use boiling hot water to clean and rinse your utensils before use. Also if you have sensitive skin, do a patch test before you actually use anything new on your skin. Test it out at the back of your ear, leave it for a few hours and see how your skin reacts. If you experience no reaction, you can go ahead and use it.

This scrub is totally vegan friendly, and no animals were harmed when making it.

10 Coconut Oil Beauty Hacks

The Benefits of Coconut Oil

Coconut oil has antibacterial properties, it is also known for its exceptional antifungal properties too. It can be beneficial for skin complaints such as eczema and dermatitis.

Excellent Moisturiser for Dry Skin

Coconut oil is great for dry skin, you really do not need to spend a fortune on skin creams for dry areas because coconut oil contains essential fatty acids that are perfect for hydrating dry, damaged skin.

Anti- ageing Properties

If you are worried about not ageing gracefully, then one of the things you really need to consider is skincare. You cannot neglect your skin, especially as you age. Coconut oil is very effective in keeping the skin hydrated, smoothing out age spots, and giving your skin that glow that is reminiscent of youth. There is no miracle cream out there that can prevent you from ageing. However, proper skincare practices can help to slow down the ageing process, and keep you looking younger for longer. Moisturise your skin with coconut oil, daily and nightly, especially around the very delicate eye area.

You also need to consider drinking plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated, and to cleanse toxins in the body.

For Acne

Some may think that if you have acne you should totally avoid oil based products. This is simply not true, coconut oil can actually balance oil production, and aid in prevention as well as cure. Because of its antibacterial properties, coconut oil can be used daily on acne prone skin. It can actually be used as a cleanser, try the oil cleansing method by applying it to your face, and wiping it off with a warm wash cloth. This removes surface dirt, deep cleanses the pores, and removes unwanted bad bacteria from the skin.

Note: When using coconut oil for the skin, it is vital that you use organic virgin coconut oil. This will ensure that you get the maximum benefit from the oil, and it will ensure that you do not apply unwanted chemicals to your skin. Try the face and body scrub mentioned in the video above, once a week if you have sensitive skin, and twice a week if your skin normal.
