Easy to make Home-made facial masks for Oily skin

Facial masks are used to revitalize and exfoliate the skin of face to make them look clean and glowing. They are applied for 20-30 minutes on the face and then washed off, wiped or peeled off depending on the type of face mask. The facial mask has nutrients which are absorbed by the skin. Each skin type is different which means that the basic requirements of nutrients also differ. Facial masks should be applied according to your skin type. Here are some easy to make home-made facial mask which will rejuvenate your skin. These home-made masks will help you get instant glow on your face without spending loads of money.

Home-made masks for Oily Skin

If you want to know whether your skin is oily or not, take a mirror and press your nose or cheeks tightly onto it and if you see greasy prints your skin is oily. Acne and pimples are common problem of oily skin. Try the below given natural facial mask to exfoliate your skin.

Yoghurt and Strawberry Mask - mash some strawberries in yoghurt and make a smooth paste. Apply the paste on your face for 20-30 minutes. Wash it off with cold water. The science behind using strawberry is that it is rich in salicylic acid which removes the dead skin layer. Yoghurt is an effective moisturizer and anti-aging product. However if you have broken skin or are allergic to berries try other facial masks.

Baking soda mask – oily skins have one more problem besides acne and that is blackhead. Baking soda mixed with water will remove the blackheads instantly. Make a thick paste and apply it on the areas where blackhead formation is the most. Let it dry and then rinse it with water.

Fuller’s earth mask – Fuller’s earth has many benefits, it has anti-septic properties, increase the blood circulation and has soothing effect on skin. Mix fuller’s earth with rose water and honey and apply it on your oily skin for 15-20 minutes. When the paste dries wash your face with warm water .

Cucumber and Lemon Mask – Cucumber is widely used in Asian countries for treatment of acne. Cucumber juice helps in opening the pores of the skin and thus removes the dirt from the skin which is main reason behind acne. Mix cucumber juice with lemon juice and apply it for 15-20 minutes. Rinse it with warm water.

Turmeric and Gram Flour Mask – turmeric has anti-bacterial property. It is widely used in Asian countries as an important ingredient of all the dishes. To prepare a mask mix a pinch of turmeric with 1tsp of gram flour and sandalwood powder with water. Apply the paste on the skin, gram flour will exfoliate the skin, turmeric would tone your skin and sandalwood powder smoothen your skin.

Oatmeal face masks – Oatmeal exfoliate and cleanse your skin better than the soaps. Oatmeal might be used alone with water as a facial mask or can be mixed with honey and applied on the face. Honey moisturizes the skin and protects the skin because of its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.

These home-made facial masks will definitely bring a glow on your face instantly. Apply these face masks twice a week. If you are allergic to certain products do consult your doctor before applying these masks.
