This stone can be preferably worn as ring or pendent. The weight of emerald should be a minimum of 2.5 carets and preferably worn on a Wednesday during the ascending moon cycle. It is also advisable to purchase the gem on Wednesday or Friday or when Mercury is in the sign of Gemini or Virgo. Emerald can be embedded in the five metals or a gold ring in open setting. The ring should be immersed in raw milk the previous day and worn in the first hour after Sunrise on an auspicious Wednesday.
The ring should be worn on the smallest finger after consecrating the ring by touching the feet of the desired God and chanting the Vedic Budh Mantra "Om Bum Budhaye Namah” or the Tantric Mantra of Budh “Aum Bram Breem Braum sah Budhaya Namah” 108 times or minimum 9 times. Emerald is effective for 3 years since the time of wearing. However, it is advisable not to wear Emerald and its substitutes along with Red Coral, Pearl or Yellow Sapphire.
