Different Types of Face Masks

For All Types of Skin

Generally, clay or mud masks are best for normal or oily skin, emollient-based gel masks are good for dry skin, and those with combination skin types can use one suited to oily skin on the t-zone and one for dry combination skin on other areas. Women with acne prone skin can choose masks that also contain sulfur, salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide.

Whichever skin mask you choose remember treating yourself to a few minutes of a relaxing beauty exfoliating treatment will do wonders for you and the way your skin ages.

Different Skin Types

Did you Know that the first step towards beautiful skin is to know what your skin type is.

Know Your Skin Type

Remember when it comes to anti aging treatments to treat fine lines and wrinkles incorporating a good face mask is an essential step. These face masks are divided into categories for each skin type.
Beauty Experts also agree that the first step to beautiful skin is to know your skin type. How else can you treat your type of skin, when you don’t know which skin type you fall into. If you know that you have sensitive skin then and only then can you choose the best products that are right for your particular skin type.

Remember the best face masks (just like any other skincare treatments) are the ones that are formulated with the best natural ingredients.

Mud masks are typically found in Tuscany spa skin treatments, but that doesn’t mean you can't use these face masks at home!

Refresh with Deep Cleansing Skin Mud Masks

When skin is oily our pores tend to be clogged so the first thing we need to look for is a treatment that will help to eliminate dead skin cells while at the same time aid in detoxifying impurities. Using a clay based mask is a smart choice when thinking of the best face treatments, as it will help to remove dead cells & dark spots leaving your complexion with a healthy glow. It is important to know that oily skin needs in combating excess serum secretions will eliminate acne breakouts. I have oily skin and my favorite mask is the Borghese Fango Mud Mask. Formulated with sweet almond oils and avocado (to moisture) Peppermint, geranium and lavender oil (to improve the tone of your skin). Results after your mask treatment is your skin will feel comfortably hydrated, firmer and invigorated.

Beauty Tips for Dry Skin

Dry skin is more vulnerable to wrinkles so it really needs proper care and nourishment. Key word for dry skin is to add moisture.

Reawaken DeHydrated Skin with A Gel Mask

Dry skin is the most vulnerable skin type to succumb to wrinkles and the lines that can define aging skin. The most important concern for this skin type is in keeping skin hydrated. Applying a face mask is one of the best solutions for you to keep your skin looking fresh and smooth. It is a treatment that you should indulge in at least 2-3 times a week. In 2 to 3 minutes you can instantly refresh your skin with the moisture is craves. And that is all a dry skin face mask will do for you.

Dry Skin Facial Masks

With all the different kinds of masks on the market it is hard to pick just one. A clay mask is one that is a great mask but someone with oily skin would benefit from more than the drier skin type as it opens the deep pores that oily skin is prone to. For dry skin adding is the key, and it is moisture that you want to retain. Gel masks are perfect for skin that needs the addition. Sure there are many masks that are designed specifically for dry skin all promising to help to rejuvenate but it is the gel mask I think helps the skin that needs the most hydration. There have been a ton of research that show that dry skin can be avoided if the skin can retain the right amount of moisture and oils. So adding a gel mask to your weekly routine is easy and your skin reaps the rewards.

Gel Skin Masks

Using a gel mask is perfect for those with dry skin, as it has a high concentration of moisture. Thirsty skin loves to soak in the ingredients from gels and you can see the skin waking up the shriveling derma after a good refreshing mask. A favorite of one of my friends (she has really dry skin) comes from the Sisley-Paris collection. They have a Flower Gel Mask that is a sure winner when it comes to a beauty pickup. The Sisley Flower gel mask is a bit pricey when compared to the shelf drug store masks but worth every penny. In three to five minutes 2 to 3 times a week, your skin will feel soft and smooth. A refreshing cream-gel mask that is sure to leave your skin toned, revitalized, and less likely to sag.

Dry Skin Daily Treatment

People with this type of skin really benefit from a face treatment that soaks in the moisture. important for women with dry skin to remember to use a creamy cleanser and a moisturizer that will help your dehydrated skin stay soft. Over washing the face is a definite no for this type of skin. By adding a facial mask a few times a week, those with dry skin can't find a better beauty treatment to use as a mask is certain to keep dry skin hydrated. The benefits to dry skin is a complexion that is toned and firm. And of course younger looking!

Use one of my favorite hydrating masks like the Skinceuticals Hydrating B5 Moisture-Enhancing Gel once in the morning. All you need to do is apply 1/2 pump per eye area. Apply on the area below the eyes, on the outer corners, and on the brow bone. Do not apply product to the inner corners near the tear duct area. Right below the brow bone but not on the upper lid. Blinking will take care of this area so you don't want to get it too close to the eye.

Beauty Tips for Combo Skin Care

Combination skin demands special care and it is often necessary to use two different moisturizers at the same time. Keyword for combination skin is the T Zone.

Combination Skin

Rejuvenate and Detox with a Multi Task Mask

This skin category is a blend of oily and dry skin as women with combination skin usually has a patch of oily skin on the T-zone (from the forehead down to the nose and chin) and the skin on the cheeks are usually dry. Combo skin that is acne prone will have spots of pimples, no make or matter why there and not here but acne and wrinkles are arch enemies! Therefore the T-zone needs too be treated like oily skin while cheeks should be treated like dry skin or where ever your acne area is.

Best Face Treatment - Combo Skin

When it comes to skin masks using a moisturizing mask, an exfoliating mask, a peel off mask or a clay mask all work. The reason is some of these masks perform dual functions like refreshing the oily areas, clearing the clogged pores and nourishing the dry skin. A good anti aging beauty tip is that you can separate your mask according to your skin zone. Like using a moisturizing mask on the cheeks only and a clay mask on the T-zone. One of the best multi task face masks is the Freeze 24 Skin Glace Daily Detoxifying Mask. The bright green gel foams up into a rich lather, and leaves skin somewhat hydrated and soft and its gentle enough to use daily and you only need 2 minutes to feel your skin glowing and rejuvenated.

Sensitive Skin Beauty Tips

Sensitive skin is more prone to acne, allergy and rashes that`s why selection of good facial mask is very important to give you fair glowing, fresh and youthful skin.

Sensitive Skin

Refresh With A Gentle Soothing Mask

For Sensitive Skin types it is important to use anti aging skin care treatments that will not irritate. Using mild products can help alleviate the frustration that one encounters with this type of skin that is often more dry than oily and may become worse as we get older. Best beauty tip is to use moisturizers that aid and desensitize with unneeded chemicals, fragrances and other additives. Pevonia Botanica Skincare is a line that targets results for every skin concern. The Lavandou Mask is a soothing ultra sensitive mask that is gentle and creamy that visibly desensitizes skin. The Pevonia Lavandou Mask formulation combines Zinc Oxide, Shea Butter & other beneficial ingredients that leaves your skin soft and supple. Perfect for all skin types especially if you have sensitive, hypersensitive, delicate, allergy-prone skins. Pevonia Lavadou can and will reduce any redness & you can feel as it soothes irritation leaving you a smooth, even-toned appearance.

I remember a trivia question, Shari, that asked what is the largest organ in the human body? Most people would answer either the intestines or the liver. But it is the skin that is the largest organ (it's actually an organ system) and sometimes we need to be reminded to care for our skin. Thanks for the lovely reminders.
