Facial Hair: Go from scraggly to sexy

Updated on February 11, 2013

From a woman's perspective

How I see it:

From a woman's point of view I absolutely love, love, love facial hair on a man, if it is taken care of. I personally am not attracted to the ZZ Top look, or anything even close to that. In fact, I used to be infatuated with Brad Pitt until he (in my opinion) intentionally sought to look like Grizzy Adams as not to be sought out at all.

There's a certain debonaire quality about a man with the perfect 5 o'clock shadow, or even a little more than stubble. And I'm not just talking about the redneck look that I am so partial to. I'm referring to the doctors, lawyers, judges, sports figures, and politicians that used to shy away from beards and mustaches because they weren't "socially acceptable" for higher-up positions in the world as theirs.

So much more attractive....could even be cut shorter though.

Different Face Types

Different face shapes/types has a lot to do with what looks good on you: Figure it out!

Not every type of beard/mustache/goatee looks good on just anyone. Certain face shapes are partial to looking good with certain facial hair. You certainly do not want to accentuate any prominent features that you perceive as unbecoming because the facial hair will make them stand out like Rudolph's red nose. Here are a few examples of good facial hair and bad facial hair (in my opinion of course).

Women, do you like facial hair if it's done right?

I don't shave my face

Since I am a woman, I do not shave my face.

I certainly cannot give you exact detail on how to shave your face the way you want it. I would have to say just like anything else, research different styles and tricks. I have left a video below showing you how to shave a certain look. If you aren't partial to that look, which not everyone is, please, do us ladies a favor and figure out what works best for you. If nothing else, go to a salon and have them give you a consultation. That way they can look at you, get a look at your face shape, and analyze what would be the best choice for you. They can also teach you how to upkeep the look as they're doing it for you in the salon.

Facial hair on a man is extremely sexy to me, if done right. Do it up guys, surprise your woman with a new look! And if you're already on board with a sexy beard....shave on!

OOOH so sexy tutorial for clean-cut look

It's funny, I kind of have a little bit of a shadow going on in my profile pic. I normally keep it around like this or a bit thicker. There's been a few times when I've been overseas that I've let it grow out to a grizzly Adams look. Partly because when I'm backpacking or in a survival environment, I don't care particularly how I look! I really enjoyed this hub, it's nice to know how the other side thinks! Voting up as interesting! Sharing!

Thanks again Lady E. Yes, I was so excited about my score today that I took a picture. I know most hubbers would scoff at that, you're not supposed to give the hubberscore much thought, but I think we all secretly love to see that 100 no matter what the reason:)

Interesting Hub. Some women do have little hair on their chin though. Maybe it's hormones. I enjoyed reading this and congrats - your Profile Score is 100. :-)

Thanks Tammy;) I like the look on Paul walker, that's my fave. The funny thing about this hub challenge was that me n my bf were just talking about how he should shave. He always goes and gets everything shaved off at a salon so I told him its cheaper and sexier to trim it yourself. Thanks for reading!!

Very awesome and interesting. I like my hubby with a goatee. Great examples. I had no idea Mel Gibson ever had facial hair like that. Yikes! :)
