My Favorite Fragrances

Updated on June 2, 2011

Ladies, how many times have you went out and bought a perfume that smelled divine on your friend yet when you wear the same fragrance it smells completely different? This is because your own body chemistry (diet, hormones, skin acidity) affects how different notes react on your skin. I have tried many different perfumes and fragrances over the years and here are my Top 3 must-haves (and many other women seem to agree!).They are my tried and true favorites on which I always receive compliments.

Chanel No.5

Chanel No. 5

Chanel No. 5 is a popular scent amongst the women in my family. My grandmother wears it, my aunts wear it, and my mother wears it. Perhaps this is why it's my most favorite perfume ever - it reminds me of my family and the women I love the most. Chanel No. 5 is the most iconic perfume because of one person, the lovely Ms.Marilyn Monroe. When once asked what she wore to bed, Marilyn replied, "Why,Chanel No. 5, of course." Every woman should have this perfume, in my opinion.

And if you love Chanel No. 5 as much as I do, then you will love the Satin Body Spray. Spray it on when you step out of the shower and towel off but your skin is still damp. The spray is a super fine, soft, satiny, delicious smelling mist that will stay with you all day. I get so many compliments when I wear this it's amazing. It always makes me feel super sexy when I wear it on a special date with my honey! Buy it in stores when you see it because it's become hard to find!

Gap Scents - So Pink

I accidentally discovered So Pink by Gap about 10 years ago when I was working at a department store. I was helping a customer and felt compelled to ask what fragrance she was wearing because she smelled so good. Fruity, fresh, crisp and intoxicating. It was So Pink by Gap. I think I ran over to The Gap that day to purchase a purse size bottle and I have been in love ever since. This has been my regular, everyday fragrance for years! And without fail, I still get compliments to this day. Both men and women always ask me what I'm wearing and tell me how nice I smell.

One tip though ladies, this fragrance can be very hard to find. When I find a Gap store that still carries it I will buy several bottles of the perfume, body spray, and lotion. When I can't find it in the stores I turn to ebay - you pay a bit more but for me it's so worth it.

Jovan Musk

Jovan Musk is a fragrance I first bought at Walgreens drugstore when I was a teenager. It has an almost powdery, musky scent that is light enough to wear every day. And, yet again, this is another scent on which people always ask me what I'm wearing - and they are usually surprised by the answer. One of my favorite Jovan Musk products is the perfume oil. I dab a bit on my pulse points - my wrists, the sides of my neck - and without fail my boyfriend always tells me how good I smell. And ladies, this fragrance won't break the bank! Double score!

Oh yes, Sweet Chanel No. 5, who doesn't love that fragrance, especially if it was worn by Marilyn Monroe :) I do find it quite appealing.
