Good Reasons To Get A Brazilian Wax

Updated on January 4, 2011

If you're sitting on the fence about whether or not to put yourself through the torture of having your hair down there ripped out, I'm about to give you some very compelling reasons to get a Brazilian wax that might make your decision a bit easier.

I do my own Brazilian waxing at home and previously published 11 Brazilian Wax Tips for Your Best Home Brazilian Wax. Indeed, I have decided for myself that the pain of the procedure is worth the results!

But whether you do your own Brazilian waxing or have it done professionally at a salon, here are good reasons to get a Brazilian wax:

Worry free on the beach. No straggly hairs here!

Hassle Free Vacation Experience

I'm thinking of this one now because I'm about to go on vacation soon myself. And for me, there is nothing more liberating than not having to worry about hair removal in my Brazilian area for a few weeks.

Vacations often entail wearing a bathing suit (or bikini if you're so inclined) and I'm sorry, but having to constantly look down wondering if little hairs may be sticking out the sides of my bikini bottoms takes the enjoyment out of my beach days. I suspect most women are the same on this.

While you could opt to shave every single day on your vacation instead, for me, the better option is to go through a bit more pain and trouble in the beginning and get my Brazilian wax so I don't even have to think about it until I'm back home again and my vacation is over.

There is always the option of just going for a simple bikini wax too if all you're concerned about is hair sticking out the sides. It's a less painful option, I will admit, but I figure that while you're down there, you might as well get rid of all of it.

It's comfortable and just feels good

Ask any woman who's ever had a Brazilian wax done and she will tell you that you just can't beat that soft, smooth feeling one can expect to have for at least a week (or longer depending on the type of hair you have and how long you have been waxing).

Shaving may provide you with this sensation for about a day (probably less to tell you the truth) but then the little hairs start growing back fast so you'll start feeling those annoying prickly stubblies again and you might have to deal with redness and bumps.

It's one of those feelings that you really can't describe and need to try for yourself to understand. Once you get past the initial pain stage (that can take about a day - but it's not like I'm in full pain the whole time, just a little tender), it's totally worth it.

If you like it and he likes it..

.. the sex will be better. That's just the way it is and one of the benefits of getting your Brazilian done!

Your boyfriend or husband will LOVE it

I think you would have a hard time finding a man out there these days who wouldn't appreciate your Brazilian wax efforts. Men claim to LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this. Sorry to shout, but if you want to know for sure, ask one of your straight male friends if you're up to it.

If you're in a relationship, let's be honest here, you do want to put some effort into your appearance and while that doesn't mean that getting Brazilian waxed has to be part of that, it certainly can be.

I have heard stories about men being more than willing to help their girlfriends or wives with their Brazilian waxes (sure - no pain for the men!!). If you want to try something different with your guy, you could let him participate.. or not.. up to you!

It smells good

When there is no hair to speak of, your womanly area will just simply smell better. It's one of the rules of biology and a definite benefit to getting a Brazilian wax.

So you have nothing to lose by giving it a try. If you try it and find that it's just not worth it to you, at least you will know and can go back to shaving or whatever method you used before.

As above. No hair=no trapped anything to add to BO. , regardless of good hygiene

Hair absorbs the odor and traps the sweat which leads to smelly vaginal areas .. That's the science the writer is talking about

What biology makes a waxed vagina smell nicer. As long as people are hygienic I would be very surprised if there is any biological proof of that. If so I would be interested to know what research you are referring to. Why devalue your article by including 'facts' which are more than likely fiction?
