Green Tea - Facial Mask with the Goodness of Chickpea & Turmeric
Green tea has many medicinal properties that make it an excellent ingredient in a green tea facial mask.
Green tea is good for the skin because it has high levels of antioxidants. These antioxidants reduce inflammation and protect skin cells from damage.
The antioxidants in green tea, prevent premature aging of skin cells. Green tea helps to treat sunburns and protect the skin from harmful UV rays of the sun, and contributes to preventing skin cancer.
Green Tea is rich in EGCG (Epigalocatechingallate). EGCG is a polyphenol that helps to revive damaged skin cells by making the skin cells produce more collagen.
The tannins present in green tea act as an astringent and kills infection on the skin. It tightens the skin, thereby helping to reduce wrinkles and prevent aging.
Green tea is also rich in vitamins C, D, K, riboflavin, calcium, magnesium, zinc and iron.
Brewing Green Tea
- Take a quarter cup of water in a porcelain mug.
- Heat the water for one minute.
- Dip the green tea bag in hot water and leave to brew for ten minutes.
How to make a green tea facial mask
2 tablespoons chickpea flour
1/4 tablespoon turmeric
3 tablespoons green tea brew
How to prepare?
- Take a medium sized bowl
- Add the gram flour and turmeric powder.
- Add the green tea brew little by little and keep mixing till you get a fine paste.
- The green tea facial mask is ready for use.
This facial mask has the goodness of green tea, turmeric and chickpea flour.
You can make chickpea flour (Garbanzo beans) by grinding dry chickpeas in a food processor.
Before applying the green tea facial mask wash your face and pat dry. Apply the green tea facial mask evenly on your face. Leave on for 15 minutes. Wash off thoroughly and pat dry.
