HAIR ACCESSORIES Feather Hair Extensions

Updated on February 28, 2011

Anything with feathers is all the rage right now. I've been making feather headbands, feather hair clips, feather earrings, and feather necklaces for months now. I have to say though that making feather hair extensions (some refer to as "feather hair earrings" since many of them have an earring hook at the top) has been the most fun.

I've made them on clips and as earring hooks; I've made them using natural colors and earth tone beads as well as made them using lots of brignt colors and charms.

Purple and Blue

The above extension was really fun to make, using purples and blues.  This is one of the first that instead of gluing a bead or a charm on the hair clip, I glued on feathers.  I also used blue and dark purple cord, along with blue and purple beads.  So much fun!

Peacock Feather Hair Extension

This one, I just know my daughter is going to claim.  I love using peacock feathers, but this is the first time I've attempted using one in a feather hair extension.

Bright green feathers, black and white polka-dotted feathers, and hot pink hemp made this one a fun combination.

I used more natural colors with this one: burnt orange, chocolate brown, and creme.

I used all natural colored feathers in this one, as well.
