Hair! Long Beautiful hair!

Updated on December 11, 2010

One of my goals in life is to have long hair! superficial, I know but I would just love to have long lucious locks. I have done a lot of research on this topic and I have come up with some helpful tricks. Maybe writing this will remind me to be consistent with them

Go Green

Green tea that is! Green tea has antioxidants that help with hair growth. Its also very calming. To be honest I think that is one of the reasons why people in Japan have such nice hair. I've been to Japan and they drank a good amount of green tea. I think it is better to drink it without sugar and just naturally. It is more healthy for the mind, soul, and hair!

Get the recommended amount of sleep. When you sleep you grow. I certainly don't think people grow during the times they are awake. So the more sleep the more your body rejuvinates its self and the healthier you are. Good sleep is key to long health locks!

Stress stops growth. Your body is so tense and every part of you feels the tension. That's why hippies have long flowing hair! So dance around, paint a picture, write some poetry, whatever relaxes your mind.

I take Folic Acid, Fish oil, and Vitamin B6. They are all good for hair growth.

Snip Snip

Getting trims also helps. Your ends get split from blow drying, straightening, and every day wear and tear. If you let these fly they will start to split up the hair shaft. since hair grows half an inch a month it is smart to get a trim once a month.

Get extensions, weave, tracks, whatever you want to call them!

While your waiting you can still have long hair!

Clip in's are quick and easy. What you do is you put your hair into horizontal sections. start from the back of your head and tease the section. Clip the hair on to the teased section and do the same for every other section.

Glue in's are also easy but hard to take out. You just glue the hair on each section with bounding glue.

weave in'sare when the hair is sewed onto an already made braid. The braids are usually horizontal and the hair is sewed on top.

Fusionis the new technology of using a tool that opens the hair follicle. it is then bounded to the extension hair. This is a complicated process that should be done by a professional!

Hmmm I also heard about horse shampoo, they made one for humans called Mane and Tail. I might give that a try. In the meantime, I try to wear my hair in loose messy buns or other protective styles to keep it safe from everyday wear and tear. Because my hair gets snagged on everything. I'ts not even long yet! It's just barely past my shoulders. But I'd love Rapunzel-length hair.

You heard about horse shampoo too!? Maybe one of us might have to try and write a hub about it.

I too am trying to grow my hair but to no avail. I'm going to try and cut down on straightening by pinning it up for a few days in the week. Also, applying serum to protect my hair from heat. I've read horse shampoo is supposed to help with hair growth...mmm...I might give that one a miss :)
