How to Get Glowing Skin Naturally

What Should I Eat to Get Glowing Skin?

If you are after a healthy glow there are several factors you need to take into consideration. Things like diet, physical exercise, sleeping habits, smoking, alcohol, pollution and skin care habits, all play an important role on how the skin looks and behaves.

  • The secrets of achieving glowing skin lies on following a daily skin care routine that incorporates effective homemade remedies, skin care products and facials.

It is essential to follow a healthy diet, consuming plenty fruits and vegetables. It is also essential to drink lots of fluids, preferable water, herbal teas or healthy juices. Avoid alcohol to keep the skin from becoming dehydrated..

  • Another important thing to remember when trying to get glowing skin is to stop smoking. Smoking causes great damage to the skin, producing wrinkles around the mouth and depriving it of oxygen and essential nutrients. It also gives the skin an unattractive yellowish tone.
  • Use broad spectrum sunscreen to protect the skin from both types of UV rays and to prevent brown spots, pigmentation and lines.
  • Sleeping an adequate amount of hours is important to have a rested complexion and to avoid puffy eyes. Aim for 7 to 8 hours but avoid sleeping for too many hours.
  • Since stress can reflect on the skin, if you are going through a stressful time force your brain to have positive thoughts, and make time for physical activities that you enjoy. Physical activities such as aerobics, yoga, Pilates or jogging will increase blood flow and boost the skin's appearance.
  • Pollution is also bad news for the skin. If you live in a busy city you need to be extra vigilant with your skin care routine, making use of creams containing antioxidants and effective skin care ingredients such as retinol and vitamin c.

3 Home Tips

There are things you can do at home to get a more radiant and glowing skin. Below you will find my favourite tips to get better skin.

1- Every morning when I wake up I wash my face with really cold water. Sometimes if the water is no cold enough I will add few ice cubes and submerge my face several times. I love doing this because I can feel a tightening effect on my skin and because it really wakes me up!

2- Add a sauna to your facial skin care routine. Facial saunas are overlooked by so many people because I think they don't realize of the full benefits that their use can bring to the skin. After a facial sauna the skin is left feeling and looking clean, clear and radiant.

3- I started practicing facial exercises and facial massage few years ago and they have become one of my preferred weapons to fight wrinkles, delay sagging skin and achieve a clearer glowing complexion. Face exercises and facial massage boost blood's circulation to the face, increasing the formation of new cells and providing the skin with healthier and more radiant skin.
