Homemade Beauty Tips For Dry Skin/Eczema

Updated on October 2, 2014

Introduction

Today's post will be about beauty tips for men/women who may have experienced dry skin on the face, eczema, pimples, or blackheads. This article will be geared towards people that would either prefer at home remedies or are currently on a budget and cannot get prescriptions or creams at the pharmacy. In advance I want to say thank you for reading this article and I hope this helps.

My History Of Dry Skin/Eczema

At the time when I was in middle school (Puberty Stage) I had dry skin and pimples on my face. Since I was so young I had no idea what to do in order to change this. My mother always had clear skin so had trouble understanding how to get rid of the pimples. I remember being frustrated because I was the only one at the time in my class that had that problem. I remember thinking that I was weird or I didn't "fit in" because of my dry skin and pimples. I began trying to bust the pimples so they would go away, but in return all I got was black marks that I couldn't get rid of.

I have always had eczema on my face between my eyebrows. This part of my face would get extremely dry and create "Soar like" peeling marks on my face. Due to my eczema, I became insecure about how my skin looked because I always had acne and my eczema made it look worse than what it actually was, or so I felt. After trying product after product, I decided to try homemade items that I purchased.

What I Applied To My Skin

To clear my dry and cracking skin, I applied honey and lemon juice on my skin before bed time. I did this for 3 months, not only did it make my skin appear to have a glow but it also evened out my skin tone.

Face Preparation

First, you must wash your hands, you do not want to touch your face with dirty hands. Your face has bacteria on it, so washing your hands is imperative before applying anything on your face. Next, you must proceed to wash your face with the cleansing solution that works best for you. I have sensitive skin, So I prefer to use Dove soap to cleanse my face.

Again, you can use the cleansing solution that works best for your skin. You will also need a towel, make sure you do not rub the towel over your face to dry it, you should only pat dry.

Honey & Lemon Mix

First, you will need a bowel, Preferably small if you are just applying the honey and lemon to your face. In the case that you are applying to your arms, or legs, you may need a bigger bowel or more lemons.

Begin by cutting one lemon in half, only using one half of the lemon to squeeze in the bowel. After doing this, proceed to pour a small amount of honey into the bowel. Then, mix the lemon juice and honey in the bowel with a spoon. You will then dip paper towel in the bowel and apply the solution on your face. When applying the solution on your face, make sure that you don't use the same paper towel for different areas of your face. Once applied to one area, you should get a new piece of paper towel because using the same piece that you applied to another area, you will spread bacteria and that's what we are trying to get rid of.

After 15 minutes, you will wash your face making sure that you do not rub but you splash the water on your face. Then, you will take your towel and pat dry. Do not apply anything on your face. This should be done when you are on your way to bed and in the morning when you wake up.

Results

I did this for three months and it is still something that I do to keep my face clear of acne, blackheads and dark spots. I strongly recommend this for everyone that has tried product after product and have not seen any results. Results may vary depending on how many times you apply and for how long. Some will see results quicker or slower than others, so always keep in mind that there is no magic solution that will produce fast overnight results. If you know of any other methods besides this that worked for you, Please comment below and I will gladly try them. Thank you all for reading this article!!!

yes it really works. when I started seeing the results I was shocked because I've always had lemons and honey but never tried it. I have saved so much money since I'm not buying facial creams lol
