Razor Bumps also known as barber's itch, Pseudofolliculitis barbae, folliculitis barbae traumatica, scarring pseudofolliculitis of the beard and shave bumps. It's mostly present on the face, also appears in other areas of the body. It can happen anywhere your hair is shaved or eliminated. The reaction is caused by the hair curling back when entering the skin. In m case, it was caused by the small pieces of hair left behind. The aftershave by itself was not enough to remove the fragment pieces, and this is why razor bumps stopped when I started using a blackhead scrub. The doing a light scrub cleaned the hair debris left in the pores, and the aftershave cleared out any bacteria hanging around. The aftershave along was now enough for me. Now I do get the occasional bump, that, I dramatically reduced them by brushed the shave zone with a soft brush. This step keeps the hair from curling in the shin. This is the reason why using silky shaving cream and oil has added benefit, they keep the hair from having a jagged piercing edge. Added moister is a plus too and irritation will appear less. I also tried the hair removal creams too. The problem with using them is the timing. Somedays 15 minutes would be perfect, other days they would leave my skin extremely red and sensitive. Since I perfected my shaving method I stopped using the cream.
