How To Make An Oatmeal Scrub For All Skin Types
Oatmeal Facial Scrub
DIY Oatmeal Scrub For All Skin Types
This is a recipe for a DIY Oatmeal scrub that is good for all skin types. This facial recipe uses common ingredients that are not expensive, but they are effective when it comes to the health of your skin. This recipe works well on oily, dry, combination, and sensitive skin types.
I love to use face masks and scrubs on my skin. I don't use them every night, but try to relax and enjoy a facial at least once a week. I also enjoy making and using homemade lotions to help keep my skin soft and supple. Pampering myself may not be a daily occurrence but maybe that's why I am really thrilled when it does happen.
What's In This Oatmeal Facial Scrub?
Oatmeal – the main ingredient is oatmeal flakes. These flakes help to reduce any skin irritation and inflammation. Oatmeal contains an ingredient called saponins, these are what cause oatmeal to be a naturally deep cleaning substance. It is also very helpful in treating acne, so this facial scrub can help those with acne.
Brown sugar – exfoliates the skin gently. This sugar is softer than other types of sugar so it is more gentle and produces desired results without scratching the skin.
Whole milk – helps to reduce acne, plus it cleans and moisturizes the skin. Milk hydrates and replenishes your skin. It's been a well known skin treatment for centuries. Even Cleopatra took milk baths. Milk leaves your skin soft and glowing. It turns out that the the lactic acid found in milk is a natural substance called alpha hydroxy acid. Alpha hydroxy acid helps to rid you of dead skin cells and milk can actually clean the skin all the way down to the deepest layers. That will save you from a lot of wrinkles.
Eggs – Eggs are full of protein, minerals, and vitamins. You will find: vitamin A, selenium, iodine, vitamin B12, B2, iron, calcium, phosphorus and potassium. When you put an egg white on your face, you can feel it tightening as it dries.
