How to: No knots without brushing!

Updated on January 15, 2015

Washing!

How you wash your hair often has an effect on the condition of your hair.

I use conditioner only once a month and wash my hair every 2-3 days. Dry shampoo has also become my friend. I use it for the days I don't wash my hair because it helps make your hair feel free and light.

Conditioner has been found to actually be bad for your hair so the less you use it, the better it is.

Also, make sure you pass the shampoo twice in your hair and that it is foamy. It will massage you, so you get to relax and also, the shampoo will go through the hair.

Tying up your hair!

DON'T BE AFRAID TO TIE YOUR HAIR! Every night when my hair is dry, I tie up my hair. Also, since I work with kids, my hair is always tied up except the very few days that I do not work.

Less dirt will go in your hair and obviously it can't be messed up if it's tied up.

Products

DO NOT use products! Products causes damage to your hair and also, it can cause your hair to stick together.

Hairspray is the best example. It is a bunch of chemicals put together in a can to be able to stick your hair together for a "strong hold". It glues your hair together to be able to make it stay in place.

Brushing

This isn't about telling you that you need to brush your hair! It's actually to tell you to NOT brush your hair! The less you brush your hair, the more it will stay without knots.

I brush my hair about 2-3 times a year whenever there is a really special occasion. Its like taking showers in spaced out times.. the more your body gets use to it, the less you will stink.

Brushing your hair when it is knotted can actually ruin your hair. You are pulling the hair out of its roots and for some people it can actually hurt.

My own results!

My hair is very soft, flowing and also healthy. When I go to the hairdressers, they always say how nice my hair is and ask if i brush it very often. When I say I don't brush it, they get very impressed!

My hair is actually healthier than most people and I dye my hair on a very regular basis but NEVER brush it unless it becomes a strong need.

My hair is always tied up because of my job and because I don't have the time to straighten my hair.

Do you brush your hair?

This is a very interesting article. I'd like to add that it's important to try to break habits like playing with your hair. I know that I'm still working on trying to stop knotting my hair or playing with it absentmindedly at times.
