As women we want to be fabulous all the time. From getting our hair professionally done, pedicures, facials, and shopping for the latest fashions, we are very high maintenance and not even realize it. Keeping up our weekly or monthly indulges can cost a lot of money but it does not have to. There are ways to save money on your beauty treatments and still be fabulous!

Manicures and Pedicures

Taking care of our hands and feet are very important but can be costly. To save money, you can do your own manicure and pedicures. You can purchase the necessary items at any drugstore. If you have trouble with painting your fingernails, ask someone to help you. During the winter time when your feet is covered, keep your feet moisturized and sleep in socks to hold in the moisture. Also use a foot scrub with walnut shells to keep the bottom of your feet soft. If you must get a professional pedicure, do it only during the summer months when you wear sandals.

Your Hair

Going to the hair salon on a weekly or every other week can be very expensive, as much as $300.00 a month. However, there are ways to save such as do your own hair. Learn how to roller set or flat iron your own hair but let the professionals do any chemicals snd trimming. If you just have to have it done professionally all the time, go to a hair college. They will do a great job because they are being watched by their instructors. It only costs about $10.00 for a wash and style.


If you get your eyebrows and other facial hair waxed or threaded try to go only once month. There are shave less lotions that you can apply to slow down hair growth. Also keep tweezers handy and pluck out the hairs that grow in. If you do this, you only have to go once a month instead of every two weeks. Depending on where you go, this could save you about $15.00 dollars a month. If you get your legs and bikini area waxed, try to do so only during the summer months when you wear sundresses and shorts. Shave or use hair removers during the winter time. That alone can save you $35.00 to $50 a month.

Tips & Warnings

  • Some hair salons offer a package plan where you can get your hair done twice a week for a set price such as $200.00 a month for everything. Ask your hair stylist if they offer this plan.
  • You can do your own facials at home with skin care products that a lot of salons or spas sale. Just buy it and apply it yourself
