Homemade Beauty Recipes with Lemon for Natural Skin Care

Lemon gives us a cool and refreshing feeling and it also has exfoliating, blotching and anti-viral properties. Rich with vitamin C, lemon is one natural skin care ingredient present in almost all beauty recipes. As a cleanser it can remove the dead cells from the skin and keep your skin soft and smooth. You can use lemon beauty recipes to wash and highlight your hair.

Lemon is especially useful for people with oily skin. Many beauty recipes can be perfected for oily skin by adding a few drops of lemon juice.

Exfoliant with lemon for dry flaky hand

You will need one ounce of ground almonds, 2 tablespoon of walnut or sunflower oil and one tablespoon of both lemon juice and honey (clear).

Mix all the ingredients well until they turn into a thick paste. Rub the paste on your hands and keep it for 3-5 minutes. Then wash your hands with water. This lemon exfoliant removes the dead cells from your hand and also has moisturizing and cleaning abilities to make your hand skin soft and smooth.

Another option is to mix lemon juice and salt or brown sugar together and rub on your hand and feet. It works almost the same, making your hand and feet skin soft and smooth.

Natural Blemish Remover with Lemon and Strawberry

Strawberries are rich in Vitamins and malic acid. Lemon and strawberry combined works great for cleansing and brightening. For this you need one teaspoon of fresh crushed strawberries and half teaspoon of lemon juice. With that add one teaspoon of both organic tooth powder and cream of tartar. You may use baking soda instead of tartar. Mix the ingredients into a paste and apply to the blemishes. Keep it for 5 minutes and then wash with water.

Lemon for Oily Skin

You will need a paste made from the mixture of grapes and lemon and egg white. Leave the paste for 20 minutes before washing with warm water. Here grape work as the softener, lemon as the cleanser and egg white tightens the skin cells.

Lemon to refresh your face

This is really simple way to have a refreshing feeling. Cut a lemon and rub a piece all over your face. Wash your face with cool water after 20 minutes. It will be like a smooth wind blowing over your face.

Lemon works great as a bleaching agent. It helps to removes blotches from your face. You can mix lemon juice with egg white and keep it on your face overnight. In a hurry! Keep it for 15 minutes and rinse with warm water.

Footbath with Lemon juice and cinnamon

You will need one cup of both lemon juice and cinnamon oil. Add one teaspoon of olive oil and a quarter cup of milk. Add sufficient amount of water to the mixture and your natural footbath is ready to soften your skin. If you don’t like cinnamon, you can use another spice essential oil or rose petals instead.

Homemade Moisturizer

FOr this beauty recipe you will need honey, lemon and organic coconut oil. Just mix all three ingredients and you got yourself a nice homemade moisturizer.

Highlight your hair with lemon juice

That’s a little trick to get a nice hairstyle. Apply lemon juice on selected strands of hair, wait for a while and you get that nice highlighted hairstyle.

Homemade Shampoo with Lemon

You will need one teaspoon of lemon juice, half teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, one egg and one ounce of organic olive oil. Organic coconut oil can be used instead of olive oil. Mix all the ingredients in a blender and you can use the mixture as a regular shampoo to wash your hair.

Face mask with Lemon

Want to know a simple face mask recipe. Mix one small banana, one teaspoon of honey and a few drops of lemon juice together. That’s it. You should leave it for 5 to 10 minutes before washing with warm water. Don’t forget to apply a moisturizer after cleaning your face.

Lemon essential oil for Nail care

Yes, you can use lemon to whiten your nails and help their natural growth. The use of acrylic and gel nails leave many with damaged nails and the best way to care for your nails is to use natural ingredients. Mix ten drops of lemon essential oil, one tablespoon of aloe Vera gel and eight oz. spring water. Dip your fingertips in the mixture for 10 minutes and wash with water.

Neck and underarm treatment

Mix lemon juice with cucumber juice and a pinch of turmeric. Apply for 20 minutes, does wonder to dark underarms and neck.

Lemon makes our skin sensitive to sunlight. So, when you use lemon juice or a beauty recipe made with lemon on your skin, keep away from sunlight for a couple of hours or so.
