Fall fashion is all about layering. This makes it easy to incorporate your summer staples into outfits for more chilly weather. Instead of purchasing a new fall wardrobe, mix and match jackets, sweaters, scarves, tights, and more with your favorite summer pieces to create a style that is all your own.

Dress

Source

Wear your favorite summer dress with dark tights, boots, and a jean jacket to extend its use into the fall.

Bright-Colored Jeans or Pants

Source

Bright colors can be worn in the fall, too. Pair your colorful jeans or pants with a cropped sweater and button down for a casual layered look.

Shorts

Source

Shorts can be tricky in the fall, but if the weather isn't too chilly, pair them with lacey hose or tights with booties to create a daring style.

Summer Vest

Source

A summer vest does double duty as an extra layer over a plaid shirt.

Skirt

Source

Wear a flowy skirt with a leather jacket and dressy booties to give off a tough chic vibe.

Crop Top

You can cover more skin but still look stylish if you wear a high-waisted skirt and sweater with a crop top.

Sandals or Peep Toes

Sandals or peep toes look more like boots when worn with tights or ankle socks.

There is something very warm and gracious about fall as a season and it shows in fall fashions. Seems like the greens and browns are colors that are being renewed in cyclical fashion, as one would expect as the year comes round. Seems like long, floppy Laura Ashley-type skirts are out. 1965 hemlines are definitely with us again: business-like confidence and practicality.

Your hubs are very thoughtful; I enjoy them.

Great ideas for using what you already have, and very attractive outfits. Love the styles and colors!
