Hot Beauty, Nail Art and Fashion Looks for April

Updated on April 24, 2016

Welcome to my Easter / April collection of Hot Beauty Inspiration, this month is the official start of Spring for me, there are yellow tulips blossoming in the front garden, my 3 year old Magnolia tree has decided to flower for the first time and there are clouds of bobbing daffodils wherever I drive lately, with that in mind the Spring hot fashion items all seem to be those glorious pastel colours of natural ice creams; mint, soft strawberries, peaches, lemons and pale, pale ice blue and the world's fashion catwalks are awash with these gorgeous shades.

♥♥ I hope you all enjoy April's collection ♥♥

..... and don't forget to visit my fabulous Beauty Tips collection on Pinterest

Make-Up for Blue Eyes

This is a great beauty website, this particular article shows examples of fabulous make-up looks for those of you with blue eyes like my daughter. Blue eyes range from deep blue to gray eyes, whatever tone of blue eyes you have I'm sure you'll find a look that you'll love, my favorite is the photo above - so beautiful.

Studded Nail Art

These nails are just amazing, a tad dominatrix perhaps but still definitely nails that get noticed. This nail design was inspired by the Michael Kors dress featured above, and I think we can all agree that Sammy from Nailasaurus website did a fantastic job of creating the perfect nails to go with it, visit Sammy's website linked on the right to find out how to create your own studded nails.

Messy French Braid Updo

I absolutely adore this messy French Braid Updo that has been beautifully explained by the website Penelope's Oasis - this will be a wonderful hairstyle for keeping you cool in Summer and perfectly up-do-date fashionwise.

Polyvore Collections

Polyvore is a website where people can pull together their favourite outfits to show their creativity and fashion sense. I like to choose one or two fabulous outfits each month and this one has certainly earned it's selection, gorgeous pastel colours, I love the distressed look jeans with the very smart but neutral top - everything in this selection will work so well as the temperatures begin to rise.

Ketzali Xajoj Striped Scarf

I know that we're nearly into Spring and the weather is definitely getting a bit better but it can still be a bit chilly, and I just love scarves they brighten up every outfit so I thought to start with I'd include this darling scarf that is very Springlike with it's soft colours and pastel I think will fit in with all the coming Summer months colours. Go on treat yourself.

Wedding Shoes Golden Sandals painted Indian emerald design on platform shoes

In April I am to be a guest at an Indian wedding, we are wearing traditional dress and I have a gorgeous sky blue Shalwar Kameez, which is an indian pant/trouser suit, underneath it has a gold damask tunic and a floaty georgette sequined sky blue coat and matching trousers - so pretty. With that in mind and the stunning array of Indian shoes that I was greeted with as I went into the shop where I bought my outfit I decided that these beautiful sandals which were designed for an Indian wedding would be the ideal offering for my Hub this month.

They are hand painted, and the intricate design matched the dress which was a green and golden saree, and they are available for purchase on the Etsy website.

Gold Cuff Earring

This gorgeous little gold cuff earring in the shape of a bow is made by 'Maggie Made With Love' and is sold through the Etsy community - so simple but so pretty.

Athena 8 Minute Lift

For those young things out there you can skip this bit but if like me you have a few wrinkles on your face, laughter lines, frown lines, tram lines - then this seems to be the 'magical facelift in a jar' that we're looking for. A recent review produced by a very skeptical guinea pig stated that although it actually took 10 minutes for it to take effect on her face she could literally see wrinkles melting away, the effect lasted for 7 hours and seems to be having an ongoing good effect on her skin the longer she uses it.

It is made from 12 natural organic oils, it's hypoallergenic, anti-aging, not tested on animals .... AND it has a 60 day risk free trial. See the link above for details of the full review.

Dresses for Plus Size Divas

Now I don't know about you but I get really fed up of all those little stick insect models out there, so for those of you who like myself have some gorgeous big curves going on this dress, and model, is a reminder that you don't have to be thin to be fabulous!

The colours in this peacock glittery dress are simply stunning, if you want to create some drama and make everyone's heads turn this is the dress to do it in. This dress features a beandeau-style ruched bodice with a sparkling bejewelled strap that sweeps across the bust and over one should, the colourful satin charmeuse falls from an empire waistline into a full length gown for maximum movement and effect.

Another gorgeous little number for those voluptuous goddesses out there - I just love this colour and have recently bought a dress in this very beautiful aqua blue - I wish I'd seen this one first because it truly is fit for a queen, or a princess if you prefer. Both the above addresses are available at Simply Dresses, they have tons of fabulous dresses for the curvy as well as the less curvy beautiful women.

Okay I actually felt a bit mean only putting up the above two dresses and decided that I should at least post one for those not so well-endowed and since my daughter will shortly be at the stage where she's looking at prom dresses, and however unlikely she would be to take my advice here's one from Simply Dresses that I think she would look gorgeous in.

From the Prom Dress Collection of Simply Dresses

Front Cover - where make-up meets fashion

This is a fabulous collection of eye make-up, the website has links to make-up tutorials, always a must for keeping with that up-to-the-minute look, and I just this version of the new trend of animal print make-up which is hitting the catwalks and nightclubs right now.

Of course there are cheaper make-up collections around at amazing prices.

Dolce & Gabanna Hot New Nail Colours

April's must have nail colours have to be the new April release colours of Dolce & Gabanna's Intense Nail Lacquer - for this Spring choose Mint and Anis, these two gorgeous bottles have captured the Easter feel beautifully and are a perfect accessory to all the pastels that are around at this time of the year; wear it with your best dress or your blue jeans - it will always be perfect.

Shade: Perle de Jade

L'Oreal's New Caresse Range

Of course Dolce & Gabanna are not the only ones to be producing gorgeous nail colours, a new range just released by L'Oreal is their Caresse lips and Color Riche - seen to the right is one of their nail range which is just as beautiful as Dolce & Gabanna's.

Stunning rich colours from L'Oreal's Caresse lipstick range

And their lip colours are luxurious and bang up-to-date on the fashion scene, this stunning shade being one of my personal favourites.

Mermaid pearl hairpins at Chanel

For a hair accessory that's just beautiful take a page out of Chanel's style catalogue, we are taking minimalism and natural beauty, if you're looking for easy elegance and inspiration from nature these pearl hairpins are just divine - hairstyle with an edge but as chic as ever.

Note: Obviously Chanel's hair pins can be rather pricey to say the least - so if you want Chanel chic on a low cost budget then have a look at the Nova Style website (linked on the right) and make your own.

Botkier Valentina Satchel in Mint

And last but not least ............. the Valentina Satchel - a stunning, beautifully styled, gorgeous soft pastel cowhide leather handbag by Botkier, available (and I use that word loosely) in Mint (shown above), Blush, Black, Cinnamon and Dove Grey, if you can find one buy it because they are flying off shelves in every shop that tries to stock them, and even online they are selling out faster than they're picture is being posted on the websites. I can totally understand the desire to have this work of art, this bag is at the top of my wish list.

Is this your sort of Hub? Then why not have a look at what other Hubbers are writing in our Fashion and Beauty Community linked above that I'm sure you'll enjoy.
