What you Have to Eat for your Healthy Skin Diet?

There are a lot of cosmetic products out in the market today that promises you to have that younger looking skin, with some even going the extra mile by claiming that they can do it in a matter of 7 days! Some may be true, while others can be a little shady. But if you want to ensure that your skin get the right kind of nourishment, you can rely on good ole healthy diet!

Most people overlook this simple step, for the reason that it was too simple while some lack the discipline to do it. But if you take the time to keep up a good diet eventually you will see a healthy change in your system that will ultimately reflect on your skin.

8-10 tall Glasses of Water Daily

If you want to flush out the toxins that are responsible for keeping your skin clear and hydrated, drink at least 8-10 tall glasses of water daily. By hydrating your skin adequately you make it to be less prone to breakouts and it improves skin turgor. Some even go to the extent of doing water therapy because not only will it keep your skin glowing and dewy but it also strengthens your immune system preventing any inflammation from occurring.

Leafy Vegetables

When you want to keep a healthy skin, always remember, “green is clean.” Eat a healthy serving of your leafy greens such as lettuce, cabbages, spinach or broccoli. These are loaded with vitamin A which is very effective with cell turnover that is perfect for revitalizing the skin.

Your leafy greens can also be considered to be good antioxidants, but other food sources include tomatoes, citrus fruits (e.g. apples, oranges, cantaloupe), and all the different types of berries. Like water antioxidants remove the harmful free radicals in your body that will give your skin a dull complexion, cause it to breakout and stimulate the early signs of aging.

Iron-Rich Food

Are you having problems with dark under eye circles? You can erase that simply by increasing your iron intake. Food sources include liver, eggs, and your lean red meats. Iron also gives you that pinkish glow and a plumper skin.

The Wonder of Tomatoes

Another interesting diet trivia that you might find useful is increasing your tomatoes! Add it in your salad; put it in a salsa or a sandwich perhaps. Studies have shown that the more tomatoes you eat, you are 25% more protected from sunburn. So you’ve got that natural sun protection going on and you it yummy too!

Tuna Fish

Tuna is also a great addition to your healthy skin diet because it contains omega-3 fatty acids and RNA which results to your skin having a plumper look and improves cellular energy respectively.

Foods that are derived from soy such as tofu, soy milk and edamame stimulate collagen production, which is the very protein responsible for giving your skin better firmness.

You should also incorporate whole grains into your diet because they help ward off inflammation that can damage the skin in the form of acne or other conditions. B vitamins and rutin are the ones responsible for the skin benefits that whole grains have.


In addition to what you have to eat for your healthy skin diet, you should also be aware of those foods that you have to avoid. Junk foods, too much sweet and salt, and a high fat diet are detrimental for skin health. The process of having a beautiful and spotless skin should start on the inside, so learn to eat right.
