Matcha Green Tea Face Mask DIY and Benefits
Matcha Green Tea Skin Benefits
Matcha Green Tea is full of antioxidants, even more so than regular green tea, because it is a powdered form of the green tea leaf rather than just being water steeped with the leaves.
These antioxidants help your skin heal from free radical damage, adds some vitamins and minerals to your skin, helps with anti-aging, and reduces facial redness.
Plus, it just feels good on the skin!
How to Make a Matcha Green Tea Mask
You will need:
- 1 tablespoon of Matcha Green Tea powder
- 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil OR 1 tablespoon of milk
Combine ingredients together and apply to your clean face for 20 minutes. Rinse off with a wet washcloth.
Coconut oil is anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial, meaning it is amazing for acne and smoothing out your skin texture. The lactic acid in milk helps break down dead cells and increase cell regeneration, which is great for acne. Use whichever ingredient provides the benefits you are looking for the most. I often alternate between the two since I do have occasional acne and want to keep my skin looking young.
This mask should feel thick and calming to the skin. It has quickly become one of my weekend relaxation staples.
