Maybelline Fit Me Matte Finish Review

Updated on March 17, 2015

Hi loves! When ever I am shopping for foundation I notice that there are so many selections. I hate having to look through what seems like endless amounts of foundations that promise things, that seem impossible. I normally try to stick to the same thing when it comes to foundation. Mainly because I have sensitive skin and I don't want to upset it, in any way. Every once in a while I seem to run out of my favorite foundation and when I get to the store they are out of stock of my product.

Now if you live in a big town this is no problem for you, because you are able to just go to another store that carries this product as well. I on the underhand live in a small town and when the store is out of a product then I have to either order it or try something new. For some reason I still haven't figured out that I should just order things ahead of running out.

So I went to the store a couple of months ago and I rushed to the store to find my normal foundation was out of stock. I felt a lot of grief as I started to go over a couple new foundation and settled for the Maybelline Fit Me Matte Finish.

If you would like to hear my review on this product then stick around and I will let you know the good, the bad, and the ugly about this product!

Before I start my review I would like to start off by saying I bought this product on my own, and did not receive it as a gift nor do I or anyone I know work for Maybelline. So this is my honest opinion on this product. Also this is just my opinion on this product from using it for the last month.

The Claims and About the Product

Okay, so this product claims that it is going to give you a matte finish with no visible pores. It claims to match your skin tone as well and there are sixteen different shades to pick from. It lets you know that it is for normal to oily skin, which is really nice to know. I wish I would have seen that before I got it because I do have dry skin. That said, that's my fault, not theirs. Also they have an option for dry skin as well and I will review that one too.

The Review: The Good

Okay, so let me start off with letting you all know, I have dry skin. If I would have looked past the "Matte Finish" and actually read the bottle I probably would have got something else. So my first reaction when putting this on was it was pretty lightweight. I love extra coverage, so that was a little concerning to me. After I was done dabbing it on, I let it dry a little and put on another coat of it was I was amazed that it seemed to thicken up and cover very well, and it did fit to my skin. Also surprising to me, was that it was matte and I could not see my pores. I really loved the look that it gave me because my skin seemed to be flawless. Also another big plus for me was that it didn't bother my sensitive skin, at all. There was no breakouts, or redness, which when trying something new I always have to look for, so that was a huge bonus.

The Review: The Bad

So a couple things that I didn't like about the product is that you really do have to build up to get a flawless look, so it makes me feel like I am using more product then I really want to. That said the coverage of the product is worth the build up in my eyes, and it doesn't feel heavy when wearing it. Also another thing is it dried out my skin, which is more my fault, so that is why I'm just putting that in the bad. I mean, if you have oily skin and want a nice finish I honestly think this would be perfect because it does have a drying effect that seems to get rid of oils. I don't need that so, it just made my skin a little patchy and extra dry.

The Review: The Ugly

So there isn't anything worse than having makeup smudge off and unfortunately for this foundation that is the case. I didn't notice it getting on my clothes or anything like that, but when I wore sunglasses, it did rub off on to those, and I know that a lot of foundations do that. This one seemed to be a little more than normal. Also the wear on this product isn't the longest, but it is easy to do a touch up so that wasn't that bad to me.

Over All

Over all I think this a good product for the cost. It has good coverage and does what it says it is going to do, which is a plus. Remember that if you have dry skin this is not the product for you. This is for normal to oily skin. If a friend asked me what foundation I liked I would defiantly say this product as one of the ones I would try. I think the finish that it does give is flawless and beautiful, which makes all the bad and ugly not seem as bad.
