‘Discovered’ at age 49 for a new Dolce and Gabbana ad, she went on to achieve fame as an Eileen Ford model and has been cover girl for many famous magazines like O, the Oprah magazine, Glamor and Mademoiselle, among others. She has been the model for lucrative print and TV ads for such companies as Verizon wireless, Nordstrom, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, DKNY and Lincoln Navigator.
Her zest for life and her pro-age philosophy keep her vibrant and beautiful and help make her a most sought after mature-age model.
She can now command over $25,000 for a day's work, and that's without hiding any wrinkle!

Cindy Joseph has overturned the anti-age prejudices of fashion and beauty leaders. With her long silver, undyed hair, her ‘certain age’, her 5’7” height and her healthy weight of between 125-130 lbs., Cindy Joseph is everything the accepted norm for models is not. No longer do we believe what fashion has been telling us to believe, that we must hide and disguise our age. More and more we are learning to carry our age with pride, dignity and grace, and this is the beauty we present to the world at large. We are not simply somebody’s grandmother, but somebody’s grandmother who’s teaching yoga and driving cross-country and competing in marathons. There’s never been a generation like ours, standard-bearers. We were the hippies, the protesters against injustices and wars, now we are the reinventers. And this beautiful woman is a graceful role model for us boomers.

Cindy Joseph’s refusal to dye her silver hair or have plastic surgery is giving courage to other boomers, male and female, to do the same. It was when she had had the last bit of dyed hair cut off from her head that she was approached by the scout to model for Dolce and Gabbana. The confidence of being 49, alive and well, convinced her she wanted to keep her hair natural.

Before she was a model, Cindy was a make-up artist for 25 years, having worked with top models like Naomi Campbell and Cindy Crawford. She perfected the natural look for the models, not believing they should be hidden behind make-up.
Her experience as both make-up artist and model helped her invent a new cosmetic line, Boom! by Cindy Joseph, that freshens up the aging skin, giving it a healthy glow and highlight. Cindy Joseph keeps herself beautiful by ‘taking pleasure in life’. She says she is not photogenic if she is not happy. As Rosalind Russell famously said, ‘Taking joy in living is a woman’s best cosmetic’. A happy woman is naturally more attractive.
She credits her good looks to her healthy and active lifestyle and embracing her age. She exercises three times a week with a personal trainer and eats lots of fresh fruits and vegetables Having studied psychology while working, she applies what she has learned to herself. She has a built-in community, sharing her large Victorian house overlooking the Hudson River in Yonkers with her partner, Bruce, and five other friends. She believes in never living alone, a belief shared with many eastern cultures.
The mother of two adult children was proposed to by her partner of five years on her 61st. birthday, proving one does not lose one’s feelings, one’s hopes, dreams and passions with age. And she proves that aging is living.
