Men's Hair Products and Style

Updated on November 5, 2012

Men's Hair

Many men do not know much about styling thier hair. The fact of the matter is that there is just no one that teaches us about hair while we are growing up and there aren't many good resources for information on men's hair. now, in my opinion, hair is an extremely important part of your look and can define how people perceive you.

In this hub I am going to go over a couple hair-care basics for men. After that I am going to go over a couple easy to do men's hair styles. Then I will finish up with a couple easy to use products that won't make your hair look or smell feminine.

Proper Hair Care

Hair care is something that most men don't know much about.

While you should wash and condition your hair daily you should not be using shampoo on a daily basis. Shampooing ever other day should be the right amount for most people but those of you with extra dry hair will want to shampoo only once every three days.

You should use a rinse out conditioner on a daily basis and if you have longer hair you should use a leave in conditioner afterwards as well.

Make sure you are using good shampoo and conditioners as low quality ones can actually damage your hair. I personally recommend Nexxus's Pro Mend shampoos and conditions as they work very well and the sent is very faint and will be complete gone before your hair is even dry.

Short Hair

Short hair is the most common length of hair for you to see on men. It has always been used as a fall back style for when men aren't sure what to do with their hair. Most men can look good with short hair and it can done with any type of hair no matter how curly or straight.

Short hair is extremely easy to take care of. This is one of the top reasons that this hair style is so popular among men as well. Generally you cut the hair off fast enough in order to maintain a short hair style in order to prevent any hair from being on your head long enough to get damaged. Because of this you don't need to worry about screwing up with your hair care with short hair as it will get cut off before any damage you do in noticeable.

Medium Hair

Medium hair for men can be thought of as hair that's not even fully past the ears. These hair styles are just about always layered. These ones are a bit more complex to take care of.

For a medium hair style you will frequently need to put something into your hair in order for it to look good. Sometimes this is as simple as just using a little gel or more likely wax. Other times you may end up having to straighten your hair.

The hair will still get cut off fast enough that you won't have to worry about damaging it. Though you will still have that added up keep time of having to style it in the morning.

Long Hair

Long hair for men can be shoulder length or longer. Again the hair is still most likely cut into layers but for more wavy or curly of hair fewer layers can be considered in order to make the hair weigh it self down more. For really curly hair you are probably going to want to start straightening it.

This is also where you are going to need to be taking proper care of your hair if you don't want it to look bad. You are going to need a good leave in conditioner and some good wax. Don't grow your hair out this long unless you are willing to put in the proper effort to take care of it.

This is a decent hub on hair products. Showing the effect of using them is a great way to market.
