NYX Wonder Stick (Contour Stick Light) Review

Updated on September 3, 2015

I Need Help

Hello my beauty lovers! Is everyone crawling to Friday? You know what this weekend is right? Labor Day weekend! I have some family coming in from Louisiana! So, excited I haven't seen them in a year. I wanted a crawfish boil but, we are having a bbq. I lost that battle! For those of you that don't know what crawfish are, it's a this little creature that lives in the swamps. Ewww, that sounds really good huh? HAHA! No, it seriously is good and I am a picky eater so, that says a lot. I have to bring a side dish or dessert. I feel sorry for my family, I'm an awful cook. If anyone has any easy cooking or baking ideas, please message me. I need help!!

The New Trend

Has everyone tried contouring your face? Did you end up looking like a clown? Hey, we have all been there! Hopefully we have all learned from trial and error or maybe to watched some online tutorials. No, shame in needing some tips or tricks. if you have no idea, what contouring is, let me simplify it. Basically, all your doing is highlighting and darking, parts of your face. This brings out your features and hids your flaws. But, we don't have flaws so, I don't know what that's about. HAHA! I have tried a lot of contour palettes, you can see the ones, I have reviewed, in my profile.

My Review

I was overly excited to try this product. I thought this would be a super easy and fast way to do some contouring. Fast and easy, no this isn't a cheap date. I bought this at Ulta (make up store), was another impulse buy. No, I will no longer be talking about my make up, buying problem. Please just except me, the way I am! Haha! This is a dual end stick, one side you'll find a highlighter the other, a darker shade to contour. This comes in a few different shades for different skin tones and then, I did see they had a universal stick. Not sure how that one works. How can that match everyone? I bought the light stick, the medium was way to dark for me. Reminder you do want the highlighter to be a shade lighter the your skin tone and the contour side to be a shade or two darker. On the box, this product comes in, it has a picture of a girl and it shows a basic, way to contour your face. All the different shades had the same, picture with the same girl, they just changed her skin tone. I didn't like this, the girl artificial and didn't help me what so ever. The size of this stick is, 0.28 total. So, giving all that I still, bought this and tried it the next morning. I applied my base make up, promise I will review that soon! Then, I started with the highlight, under my eyes and center of my nose. I stopped there because, I really couldn't even see the product and went back and applied a light second coat. I found it took a lot of product to even become noticeable and once on, it became to thick. It was smooth but, very, heavy. I applied the darker contour side under my jawline, cheek bones, and sides of my nose. I found this to go on smooth but, way to dark. I went ahead and tried to blend this, let me just say this did not blend well. I had lines on my face after, blending. That's not an attractive look! I also, found this stick to have a little to much shine in it. This product, is not for me at all and will not be using it again. Very, disappointed in this product since, I had such high hopes.

Comments And Question

Please, remember I am in no way paid by a cosmetic company to, write reviews. I love trying new products and even telling about old favorites. If you have questions about todays product or even want a review about a different product, please feel free to ask. I do want to add, I am no way working for any make up companies. ~LillyRose
