Happy Birthday Gift

Happy Birthday to me!! So, I received an email from Sephora, and it was for a free birthday gift with my next purchase. No, I don't usually shop from that store, just because there is not one close to my house and I'm not a huge fan on ordering makeup online when I don't know if I like the product or brand. But, who doesn't like free? Sure, Ill try it. Haha. I placed an order for an eye shadow so, i could receive my free gift. I’ll review the eye shadow in another post. I know, I know spend money so you can get a free gift. I really wanted to try these!

About The Product

Yes, this was a Bday gift so, its not the full size, as you can see. Rikugien is a satin lip pencil and size is 0.05 oz. Which, that doesn't sound like a lot but, it really is a nice size. It would last me awhile. Rikugien is the light pink color seen, it does seem to have a little shine to it.

Cruella is a velvet matte lip pencil, and size 0.06 0z. The name says it all, if you know the famous character, you know this color. If you don't know who I am talking about, check out Cruella from some of the Disney movies. She's not a very nice lady but, she's got some nice colored lips. Cruella is going to be the red color shown here. It doesn't come with much of a shine or gloss look. Hence, the matte in the name.

Coffee Cup Test With Curella

Yeah didn't do to hot on the test.
Yeah didn't do to hot on the test.

Coffee Cup Test

Here is something Im really excited to do and share! I’ll be doing this for all my lip color reviews. Some products claim to last for certain amount of time to say they a are drinking glass proof and all that means, is it won't be staining your fine China. Well, lets just test this shall we? I will apply the lip color and a few minutes later I will drink out of my coffee cup and post a picture, for all to see. I know cutting edge stuff. Anyway, my Nars product box didn't claim to stay on any x amount of time but, I still wanna share so, you can see. I just did this test with the Curella color. Well, you can see you stained the cup with one sip.

Lids Of The Pencils

My Review

I do like this new trend of lip pencils, these went on very smooth and a little cream like. I like that it's is easy to apply and it did feel like it put a little moisturizer in my lips which, I do need. I was happy with the size for being free, like I said it will last me awhile. I wasn't really impressed with Rikugien, I know it looks pretty on my wrist! But, on my lips, I couldn't tell a real difference in my lip color after, I applied it. I can say, I won't be buying a full size one. On the other hand, I loveeeeee the Cruella color. It looks smooth and has nice even pigment when applied. I like that it doesn't have a glitter look to it, makes it look bright but, light all at the same time. This color could be a serious work color or a fun color for going to the bar with the girls. I will definitely be investing in a larger one. Im not upset by the coffee cup test, it could be a make or break for some but, I really love this version of red to much to be upset. Plus, this was a free gift and I think it's something nice to add to the everyday choices of lips. Thanks for reading my first beauty bag review! ~Lilly Rose
