Another popular area for men and women to get tattooed is the neck. Neck tattoos are a popular choice for both men and women. Even so, women tend to choose neck tattoos more then men. Neck tattoo designs could include a variety of different tattoo symbols, designs, and elements. Although the neck is a small canvas, you still have your shoulders and back to work with.

In this article, we will look at a variety of neck tattoos and discuss neck tattoo designs. We will also discuss the advantages and disadvantages to neck tattoos. In the end, we hope that you are able to find inspiration and ideas for your next tattoo design.

One popular area that men and women both choose to get inked is on the neck. When it comes to neck tattoos, there are a variety of tattoo symbols that can be appropriate. Most neck tattoos are done on the back of the neck while some others may choose the front of the neck. Neck tattoo designs can also be inked on the sides of the neck. This way, you could also work with the chest and sides if need be. Below, you will find some very interesting perspectives on neck tattoo designs and we will also review the most popular tattoo symbols chosen for neck tattoos.

Just like any other tattoo location on the body, there are advantages and disadvantages to neck tattoos. If your a man or woman that wants to always show your tattoo art off, neck tattoos may just be for you. The neck is rarely covered and it gives you the opportunity to show your tattoo off. However, this can be a disadvantage if there may come a time in your life when a tattoo must be appropriately covered.

One advantage of the back neck tattoo is the fact that the back of the neck is firm and strong. The back neck is an easy place to get tattooed, plus it is less painful then most areas on the body. The back of the neck is not that sensitive to the tattoo gun. Now, the fron and the sides of the neck are different stories. The sides of the neck are strong also, but will hurt more then a back neck tattoo. The front of the neck is the most sensitive area on the neck and they can be quite painful. Neck tattoos can be inked all around the neck. Just be aware that the front is very sensitive compared to the sides and the back of the neck.

Since the neck is such a small area, tattoos are usually done in small designs. This can be a good thing for you or a bad. The neck area is a small canvas compared to other areas of the body. Due to this, your selection for appropriate tattoos are less then other body locations. Even so, there can be thousands of tattoos that are labeled "appropriate". In the end, you can choose any tattoo design or symbol that you wish. If the neck is too small to hold your tattoo design, it can always be designed to flow onto the shoulders, back, and the chest. It all depends on what you are looking for in a neck tattoo design.

When it comes to neck tattoos, there are several tattoo designs to choose from. Women typically choose to get tattooed on the back of the neck. A smaller percentage of women get tattooed on the sides of the neck. Women rarely get inked on the front of the neck. As for men, they actually get tattooed all over the neck, including the front. More commonly, like women, men usually get inked on the sides of the neck or the back. One popular tattoo that men do choose for front neck tattoos is flames and fire tattoos. To be noted, there are several chest tattoo designs that flow into the front and sides of the neck.

As mentioned above, there are several tattoos that can be considered for neck tattoo designs. In most cases, when it comes to neck tattoos, men and women usually choose a single tattoo symbol compared to a complete tattoo design. There are many tattoo symbols for women to consider when it comes to neck tattoos. Some of the more popular tattoo symbols for women include the butterfly tattoo, heart tattoo, moon tattoo, music note tattoo, fairy tattoo, and flower tattoos. As for men, skull tattoos, flame tattoos, lion tattoos, sun tattoos, and Asian characters are all popular choices.

In the end, you can choose any tattoo symbol or design that you wish. More popular tattoo choices include star tattoos, rose tattoos, dolphin tattoos, and feather tattoos. Zodiac signs and symbols are always a common neck tattoo. Although the neck is a small canvas to work with and several symbols won't fit such a small quarters, there are still plenty of tattoos to choose from. This is why it is so important to make sure that you take the time to view all the tattoo designs in this article. It will give you an idea of everything that is available for neck tattoos.

Another popular tattoo choice for the neck is name tattoos. This could include your name, a name of a partner, or the name of your children. Although the neck is a small area, there are small quotes and phrases that can fit there. You may want to consider this. You may add a paw print tattoo or a hummingbird tattoo. Animal tattoos can also be considered for neck tattoos. You can also get symbols done in tribal or Celtic art styles if you wish. In fact, there are several Celtic symbols that can work as a neck tattoo, such as the shamrock or four leaf clover. Do your research cause there are plenty of symbols and designs to choose from.

There are some important things you should remember before you choose to get tattooed. Be sure to do your research, very important. Make sure you fully understand what you tattoo represents and stands for. You don't want to get inked and find out later that your tattoo symbolizes something else. Please don't rush to get inked! I can't stress this enough. Don't get a tattoo on an urge. Make sure you think the entire process out and only get inked if you are completely sure. Men and women that rush to get a tattoo usually have regrets about their decision later on down the road. Don't make this same mistake. Even with laser removal and cover ups, all tattoos can't be fixed. You are going to wear this tattoo for the rest of your life, make sure you get it done the right way the first time around. *Frank, you are right. They seem to have increased in popularity. More and more are getting inked on the neck at the local shop also. Thanks again for your comment.

*Gypsy Willow, that is a good point. Many men and women don't think about 20 years down the line. Hope they are able to stay in shape:) Thanks for stopping by.

*Alocsin, thanks for the comment. In all honesty, you just never know. Accidents have happened. Although it is very rare, it can turn bad.

*AE, always great to hear from you Ruby. Personally, I wouldn't get inked on the neck. I have nothing against them, but I do care how people view me. Just me I guess.

*AustinStar, thanks for taking the time to view, read, and comment on this article. Those types of tattoos are out there. Chain tattoos are one example. They are wore like a necklace or bracelet.

*Max, I have inspired you. Honestly, I love the art behind it all. When you know the meaning behind the art, everything becomes clear. Appreciate you always Max and have a good weekend!

*Gypsy, thanks again for stopping by. I agree, a little too close for comfort:) Best wishes.

I would like to see a hub on Jewelry type tattoos, especially tats that look like necklaces or earrings. I saw an "earring" tat that was incredibly beautiful. wish I knew where a photo of it is. I think it was on Star Trek Deep Space Nine.

I know tattooing is a long-established and safe art, but I'm worried they might pop an important vein if they did my neck. Voting this Up and Beautiful.

Can't imagine even thinking about a front neck tattoo! It is one of the first parts of the body that starts to sag.
