Neck and Necklace and Fashion Jewelry

I have decided to dedicate this hubpage for my wife. So I have Selected my subject as jewelry, the favorite subject for my wife. Jewellery or jewelry is a form of personal adornment, a personal possession, manifesting itself as necklaces, rings, bracelets, noose pins, brooches, earrings and bracelets. Jewellery may be made from any material, usually gemstones, precious metals like platinum, silver and gold, or shells. The history of jewellery is a very long one, with many different uses among different cultures and communities. The history of jewelry is integrated to the culture of the society iot is adorned. It has endured for thousands of years and has provided various insights into how ancient cultures worked. The history of jewelry is going back about 75000 years. The first signs of jewellery came from the people in Africa. Perforated beads made from snail shells have been found dating to 75,000 years ago at Blombos Cave. In Kenya, at Enkapune Ya Muto, beads made from perforated ostrich egg shells have been dated to more than 40,000 years ago. One of the earliest cultures to begin making jewellery in Asia was the Chinese around 5,000 years ago. Chinese jewellery designs were very religion-oriented and contained Buddhist symbols, a tradition which continues to this day. In coming sections I and my friends will share some views on Jewelry and a lot of images on jewelry fashions. We will concentrate more on Indian Jewelry fashions and Kerala Styles in Neck Jewlry. Please keep reading and keep commenting. Let us make a live discussion of jewelry.

Jewelry Definition

In our previous module we have seen why I have taken jewelry as my subject for this subject. Now let me copy a definition for jewelry. Objects designed for the adornment of the body, usually made of gold, silver, or platinum, often with precious or semiprecious stones and such organic substances as pearls, coral, and amber. Jewelry evolved from shells, animal teeth, and other objects used as adornment in prehistoric times. Yes the history of jewelry is very long and it span to the prehistoric times. The designs, styles and the materials changes during these years. Now please read more… Over the centuries it came to be a sign of social or religious rank. In Renaissance Italy, jewelry making reached the status of a fine art; many Italian sculptors trained as goldsmiths. From the 17th century the decorative function of jewelry again came to the fore, overshadowing its symbolic significance. By the 19th century, industrialization brought jewelry within the reach of the middle class. Firms opened by jewelers such as Carl Fabergé and Louis Comfort Tiffany achieved great success by making fine jewelry for the wealthy.

About Vintage Costume Jewelry Designers

When you use precious metals and sturdy materials, you’re more likely to misplace your jewelry than break it. As far as color combinations go, light green glass beads work really well with 14k gold charms. You can easily change out the charms if you want to change up your look in the future. Angels and hearts are some of the most popular kinds of charms sold today, while blue and green glass beads are the hottest color choices right now. By approximately 4,000 years ago, jewellery-making had become a significant craft in the cities of Sumer and Akkad. The most significant archaeological evidence comes from the Royal Cemetery of Ur, where hundreds of burials dating 2900–2300 BC were unearthed; tombs such as that of Puabi contained a multitude of artifacts in gold, silver, and semi-precious stones, such as lapis lazuli crowns embellished with gold figurines, close-fitting collar necklaces, and jewel-headed pins. In Assyria, men and women both wore extensive amounts of jewellery, including amulets, ankle bracelets, heavy multi-strand necklaces, and cylinder seals. The history of jewlwry is also is the history of wealth.
