Bamboo Socks Wash and Wear Well!

Who knew that bamboo socks could be so comfortable, or that they could wash and dry so well?

Bamboo socks can take us from season to season, no matter what the weather brings us.

First, the weather report: global warming has not affected these Southern states of the USA. Soon we’ll again be cross-eyed from our usual heat, but right now it’s winter, and it seems like the cold is of a longer duration than we’ve seen in sometime.

I’ve been too busy to check official stats, but, child, no nonsense about it--pun intended--the cold in the south this year certainly gives credence to the disclosure of a global warming fraud, and my bamboo socks are serving me well.

About the No Nonsense Bamboo Socks...

Now that my rant is over I can tell you about the socks. It has been below freezing more nights than not lately so I have tested a variety of socks from my closet.

Both the electric bill and the gas bill are higher, and yet getting warm in the evenings has still become a priority. A shirt and a vest inside the house are unusual enough but wearing socks every night in the South is unheard of.

Trying out different pairs has at least been something of a distraction from the cold. Living where it is supposed to be warm I own one pair of wool-blend socks which are yummy when it’s cold.

I have lots of light-weight socks just because a person needs something inside walking shoes. I thought some medium weight cotton socks would work well, but they just don’t.

No Nonsense Charity

Bamboo is Comfortable!

What I like best over-all are the No Nonsense fiber-blend socks that have rayon made from bamboo in their make-up. These socks are a neat find for several reasons.

Let’s face it, wearing bamboo is just plain fun, and talk about feeling green savvy--read up on how this renewable resource is being used for everything under the sun and you’ll see why it is being turned into everything from bamboo to bicycles.

Back to the reasons I buy the socks. I have always liked this American-made brand because of their bargain-priced quality and their efforts to help the needy (don't miss the video at the end).

These socks have a comfortable fit and they have a silkier feel than any of my other socks. Soft, supportive, thick but light-weight, they are simply very nice. I haven’t been using them quite long enough to be positive, but on top of everything else they seem quite durable.

My very high instep sometimes means there is a struggle with certain socks to get them on. I really hate those socks. I’m not afraid of conflict, but life is simply too short to put up with needless frustration.

The No Nonsense socks with bamboo in them slide on with ease like a dream and stay put, even in my one pair of troublesome Privo’s that seem to want to whip my other socks into something strange.

It also seems like my toes stay warmer in my shoes when I'm wearing these unique bamboo-blend socks instead of other socks. I just may get used to wearing them more often should this never-ending winter never end.

Seriously, I am looking forward to checking out how well they do in the summer months when I need them in my gardening and walking shoes.

As for washing and drying, these socks are a breeze on both counts. They wash nicely, dry quickly, and best of all they hold their shape well. They neither shrink to a tiny size nor warp to fit an alien's feet.

They are easily spotted in the laundry basket full of clean socks because they look like socks after their wash/dry ordeal. A very nice bonus!

Global warming--I'm not so very sure; bamboo socks--probably year round now that I am familiar with their many advantages.

Thanks for letting me know this was useful to you! If you are look for clothing/products you might want to look for ones with Tencel brand fabric. I've found it to be well worth the investment.

Bamboo seems to be utilized more and more when it comes to fabrics and such. I have heard of bamboo sheets, towels and some clothing items but not socks. Someday I will have to give it a try. Your review makes them sound really good. Thanks!

I bought some bamboo socks to give as Christmas gifts a couple years ago. Could not get rid of the idea that you'd walk around clacking like a bamboo wind chime. Yay bamboo - you can do so much with it.

Bamboo socks, now this is new to me. But, right up my alley! I'm telling you, there's nothing I loathe more than cold feet. I even sleep with socks on... Thanks for the information. I might have to check these out!

This was posted so far back that I don't even know if the socks are still available, but I hope they are. Even though I haven't had to buy more, I'm thinking it's about time to find new ones--they can't last forever!

Thanks much for coming by and letting me hear from you.

Glad to see this sort of information getting out there - I haven't tried the socks, but I know the sweaters are wonderful - seems unbelievable that they can feel so soft and silky wash after wash - interesting article - B.
