OPI Peanuts Halloween Collection 2014
The Halloween 2014 nail polish collection from OPI is called "Peanuts" and is based on the famous Peanuts comic strip. If you haven't seen the film It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown then you need to drop everything you're doing and go and watch it. Well, it's not that amazing but it is a great film to watch for Halloween. It's definitely a classic and that's probably the reason OPI has chosen this iconic film to base it's nail polish collection on.
Like always, the colors are cute and very Halloween-themed. Not to say that you couldn't wear any of these polishes any time you want, they're just great Halloween colors. The set contains four new OPI nail polishes with two cremes and two glitters.
OPI Good Grief! is a bright, medium-toned yellow creme polish. This color is actually very much a Halloween yellow. It's also the same color as Charlie Brown's shirt, if that's a coincidence I'm not sure.
This would be a great color for Halloween nail art, especially for things like jack-o-lantern eyes or candy corn nails. Not to say that it's not nice on it's own. This polish looks nice with both of the glitter polishes in this collection as a top coat. Everyone really should have at least one yellow polish in their collection and, if you're looking to add one, this is a good choice.
WHO ARE YOU CALLING BOSSY?!?
OPI WHO ARE YOU CALLING BOSSY?!? is an ultra dark jet black creme polish. Anyone that knows the Peanuts comic strip can probably picture Lucy shouting. Well, She's the inspiration for this color and it nicely resembles her black hair.
No doubt that black is a Halloween color so this polish suits the collection quite well. It can be worn on it's own with pretty much anything, or used for Halloween nail polish art. The caps in the title make it even cuter.
Where’s My Blanket???
OPI Where’s My Blanket??? is a glitter polish with black, yellow, and orange glitter in a clear base. There are tiny black glitter specks as well as larger black, orange, and yellow hexagonal glitter. Even if you're not a fan of glitter polishes this is a cool option for Halloween. It can be used on it's own or as a top coat for another color.
It's a lot more subtle than most glitter polishes but still enough to be noticeable. If you wanted something other than a solid color but don't want to go through the hassle of attempting nail art for Halloween, this is a good choice. It's very Halloween-y and an awesome addition to this collection.
To Be or Not To Beagle
OPI To Be or Not To Beagle is a multi-colored confetti glitter polish with specks of black, blue (light and dark), red, green, orange, and yellow in a clear base. There are tiny specks of black glitter as well as tiny black bar glitter. The other colors, including black, appear in specks of larger hexagonal glitter.
If you like glitter polishes you will like this one, it's pretty unique. Even if you don't typically wear glitter polishes you might try this one because it's not too too eye-catching. It's just really neat looking. You might consider this one a Halloween polish but it's definitely colorful enough to be worn any time of the year. It's great on its own as well as a top coat for other polishes. Try it over Good Grief! or WHO ARE YOU CALLING BOSSY?!?
Do you have a favorite nail polish from the Peanuts collection?
OPI is so good at bringing us such cute and amazing nail polish collections and sets, and the names of the polishes make it even more fun to shop for (and often horde) polish. If you've never tried OPI polish before you really need to give it a go. You'll never go back! It's such good quality and they have so many pretty shades. Most polish fanatics are obsessed with OPI for a reason.
If you like this little Halloween set you can find other one's from previous Halloweens, as well as other holidays. Typically holiday sets come in packs of four polishes while other seasonal collections come with more, usually twelve.
