Pantyhose For Men

Updated on October 16, 2009

Pantyhose is hosiery which covers from toe to hip. But do we really know pantyhose all that well? After all, pantyhose, the favorite hosiery of many men who wear lingerie, is an odd little minx. For reasons which may not seem immediately clear to the uninitiated, or women and girls who used to have to wear it to work or school, there are those who absolutely love pantyhose with a passion that means if there was a house fire they would rush out of the house, their hair ablaze, soot staining their cheeks, hosiery drawer cradled delicately in their arms.

Pantyhose walks the line between a boring utilitarian garment and an exciting gateway to a world of nylon delight. It can be plain enough to sneak into the workplace, or so outspoken and garish that it draws every eye on the street. The choice is entirely down to you and your mood. Only one thing is certain, your legs will never look as good as when they are clad in pantyhose

My personal experiences with pantyhose have been largely positive. Our winter school best uniform included opaque pantyhose, which I always liked because it was warm and also very comfortable. In the summer we donned infinitely more drab brown sheer stockings which I could quite easily have done without because they were forever laddering and nail polish can only do so much before you simply end up painting your pantyhose to your leg.

As an adult I have made it something of a mission to explore the breadth and depth of the hosiery world and come out with two favorites which I now recommend unto you.

These two brands sit at opposite ends of the spectrum, but they both have undeniable charms. For those looking for quality and luxury, Wolford is the brand which has laid solid foundations in that corner of the market and doesn't look like they're going to be moving any time soon. Wolford pantyhose can last a life time if you are careful and with due care, will feel just as good on the 100th day you wear it as it did on the first.

If, on the other hand, you like interesting pantyhose but don't want to spend an arm and a leg on the stuff, Leg Avenue is the ticket. Leg Avenue have an amazing range of hosiery from spider fishnet stockings to neon green pantyhose. You could spend days, weeks browsing their range and never become tired of it.

I love this line : "there are those who absolutely love pantyhose with a passion that means if there was a house fire they would rush out of the house, their hair ablaze, soot staining their cheeks, hosiery drawer cradled delicately in their arms."

      This describes me perfectly.

We actually wore pantyhose out into the field when I was stationed in North Carolina. It kept the bugs out and was warm in the cool winter evenings when Thermals were too bulky. I learned it from and old Vietnam Vet , my whole platoon did it, and the ladies in town would have a laugh when we told them about it!!

Pantyhose are not my favorite kind of hosiery. Garter belts and stockings rule...always have, always will. I also like thigh hi's; you doesn't. Another favorite of mine are capri-style stockings, although these are hard to find in anything other than the "slimming one's body" style.

It sounds like your mind is made up about pantyhose. However, don't think "No Nonsense" plain nude hose. Look at and see some pantyhose that do not need to be doctored up. They have some styles that scream sexiness and are anything but plain and uncomfortable.

If I were a woman I too would wear such attractive things!

currently I use them to filter water in the fish tank, and and dust particle from the computer by placing one over each fan, those things work great! When world leaders like Barrack Obama start wearing them,I might give it a go around the house!:D

      Hi Hope

I LOVE Pantyhose. I wear them as often as i can.

During winter, there is hardly anytime My wifew and I are not in them.

Wolfords are a dream item for me. Too expensive for my taste. Target have some lovely soft opaques and my everyday (and most nights) are Kolotex Sheer relief.

Pantyhose with shorts have been a big item here in Sydney and the Asian women here are taking up the pantyhose challange more and more to please the eye.

I still would like to see more guys wearing them and especially with shorts.

Not many days to enjoy them before summer so i'm making the most of it.

God how i loath pantyhose. i wouldn't wear them if they were the last piece of lingerie left in the world. Or maybe i would if i doctored them up somehow.
