Pedicures - Getting your Feet Ready for Summer

Updated on April 23, 2011

A pedicure is one of the best ways to get your feet ready for the Summer months. It is a delicious foot spa your feet will thank you for! All year long our feet are cramped up in shoes or sneakers. With the Summer approaching, it is the time to let your feet, to strut their stuff!

No matter where you live, if you are wearing shoes day in and day out, your feet will need a pedicure at one time or another. A pedicure is a good idea any time, not only for the Summer months.

There is nothing worse then someone wearing a pair of sandals with dry crusty feet and corns a blazing. This unsightly problem does not have to be your fate. Just get a pedicure!

What is a Pedicure?

The pedicure can be traced back over 4,000 years in southern Babylonia, and it's Latin meaning is the care of feet.

This please was only afforded the royalty and the wealthy. Sandals were also the footwear of the day, which they wore all year around. Perhaps, this was their obsession with the pedicure and foot beauty.

A pedicure the the process of improving the appearance and comfort of the feet, by removing old dead skin by means of soaking, and sloughing off dead skin, that build up on the heel and balls of the feet.

A pedicure also involved trimming an manicuring the toenails. A pedicure will also include a foot massage

Any where you can get your nails done, you can usually get a pedicure as well. Why not treat yourself to a day at the spa and get a relaxing massage and pedicure.  Just make sure the establishment is safe and sanitary.

Not Just for Women

Pedicures are not only for women, but is a wonderful way to treat or pamper your man. A man's feet may need as much or even more attention than a woman's. So, you guys out there who believe that only sissy's getting a pedicure, man up and go get your feet done.

You will enjoy the attention of a lovely lady caring for your rusty dusty's and you will feel so much better when you are not walking on hard calloused feet. Try it! You will like it!  Don't forget to give your  pedicurist a nice big tip.

The Foot-Body Connection

You feet are an important part of your body. Ask anyone who practices reflexology. Your feet often have a direct affect on your health and how you feel. Each part of the  foot and hands have a correlation with organs, muscle and glads of the body.

Have your feet every hurt so bad, you literally felt as though you would fall over dead if you had to take one more step? When your feet hurt, you not only experience pain, but fatigue, anxiety and frustration.

Can you remember when you finally took your shoes off, the sense of relief and renewal. you experienced? Too many people feel that a pedicure is a luxury, but rather it is a necessity for good foot care.

The Benefits of a Pedicure

The benefits of a pedicure are not only to improve the appearance of your feet, but it helps your relax the body, relieve stress and improve the ability to be comfortable in footwear.
