Plush Trend 2014
Trend Forecast: Plush Pals 2014
As a 22 year old, I have to say that I am still very much attached to my stuffed animals. Friends and family often wonder when I will finally cut the ties to my furry animals and become an "adult". Lucky for me though, I never have to!
We began to see plush friends turned accessories on the runways. Designers such as Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Ashley Williams, and Bobby Abley have jump started this fun, furry trend. So as 2013 comes to a close, we will begin to see a rise in popularity of furry friends.
This is due to many reasons, the first being in the rise of popularity of the Kaiwaii culture. Cute and adorable stuffed creatures that would normally be associated with children are widely accepted among this interesting sub culture. Another this trend is taking off is due to the desire to fulfill your inner child. Many people today feel as if they had to grow up too fast and were unable to fulfill the childhood they truly wanted. With these cute and adorable plus accessories, adults can now carry a piece of comfort without feeling too childish.
As we become more attached to our electronic devices, we want them to seem less cold and robot like. By adding a furry, cutesy case, our devices feel more like our favorite teddy bear and less like a cold, silver brick.
How would you wear this trend?
