Potato for Face: Skin Care

Most of us would like to have fair skin. If the skin becomes darker for any reason, people use various means to lighten the skin. One major reason for skin darkening is exposure to sun. People with greater concentration of melanin (skin pigment) have darker skin. Even though it is not possible to change your skin complexion drastically; it is possible to lighten it to a certain extent. For example, it is possible to reverse darkening of the skin, due to sun.exposure.

You can cut potato into slices and rub it on your face. Potato can also be grated and applied to your face. It will not only lighten the skin but can also get rid of the dark spots on the skin and acne.

For Dark Circles Under the Eye

Dark circles under the eyes, add years to the age and spoil your looks. It is not easy to get rid of them. These circles could be due many reasons, including lack of sleep, anemia, improper functioning of the kidney or due to heredity. Rub potato slice on these circles daily. Alternately, grate potato and rub it on these circles. It is essential to drink more water and eat nutritious food if you are prone to under the eye circles.

Potato for Acne

Potato is a very good remedy for acne. Cut potato into small pieces after removing its skin. Rub it on your skin. The surface of the potato exfoliates the skin. Potato kills bacteria that are responsible for acne. Rub potato pieces at least twice a day on the acne affected area. Wash your face with warm water and pat it dry with a towel.

Potato for Acne Marks

It is not possible to get rid of acne marks completely. Apply potato juice to the scars. It will help to remove the dead skin, lighten and shrink the scars, so that they are less visible. You can also rub potato slice on the scars.

For Dry Skin

Potato face mask can help to hydrate, purify and soften dry skin. Before applying potato face mask it necessary to wash your face, first with warm water and then with cold water. Potato mask can help to activate the subcutaneous glands. It can also help to reduce wrinkles.

Ingredients to prepare potato face mask

4 slices of potato
4 slices of cucumber
1 tbsp of lemon juice

Put all these ingredients in a blender and prepare a watery paste. Place it in the middle of a cheesecloth and squeeze out the liquid. Apply the pasty liquid thus obtained to your face gently. Let the paste dry for 15-20 minutes and wash it off with warm water.

Potato face mask will help to get rid of acne, under eye circles and blackheads. It would also lighten the skin complexion and make it soft and smooth.
