9 Things You Should Know About Buying Prada Wallets on Ebay

While wallets are a great gift and seem like a deal on Ebay, they can often be fakes. Don't fall for items with authenticity cards, this means nothing. Authenticity cards can be faked, just like the wallet. There are more than a few things you'll want to be on the lookout for when buying a Prada wallet on Ebay:

  1. Check the Ebay seller's feedback score. This score will tell you how trustworthy that seller is. If their reputation is 100%, they've been selling on Ebay for a long time, and they have thousands of satisfied customers, then it's pretty safe to say that the seller might be trustworthy.
  2. On the other hand, you'll want to be on the lookout for untrustworthy sellers. Avoid zero feedback sellers, low feedback scores, sellers that do not allow returns, suspicious comments in the feedback forum, and a lack of response when you ask the seller a question.
  3. Always buy through PayPal. Should you have a problem with the item and the seller isn't willing to work with you, you'll be able to contact PayPal to help resolve the problem and get your money back.
  4. Inspect the quality once you get the item. The wallet should be absolutely perfect. No glue strands, no glued on logos, no funny scent, no crookedly embossed logo, no off center printing, and no loose stitches.
  5. Avoid items wrapped in lots of plastic. Usually Prada wallets will be placed in a box, sometimes with a Prada tissue paper.
  6. Ask the seller plenty of questions. Make sure they respond to you. If not, do not buy from them.
  7. Be sure the seller guarantees the authenticity of the item. This is a good question to ask the seller. Most will brag about the authenticity if it is indeed authentic.
  8. Never send cash or money orders, or purchase elsewhere (not on the Ebay site). You'll need the full protection of Ebay and PayPal for your purchase.
  9. Don't purchase if you're gut tells you not to. Suspicious of this item, or does it seem too good to be true? It probably is.

BONUS TIP - Finding a rare style of wallet or handbag, especially when used, is a step in the right direction when buying Prada on Ebay. If there are no other items like it on Ebay, you can most likely assume that the product isn't being sold by a counterfeiter. Look for the unique and buy used for the best chance of buying authentic.

Thanks mysisters for adding that piece of advice! I know it sounds strange, but one telltale sign of a fake is also the smell. If it smells strange and not like genuine leather, it could be a fake. The low quality leather has a different scent and doesn't go through the same processes as the authentic ones.

Great Hub. Finding out if a handbag or wallet is authentic is sometimes difficult. I agree that you should inspect every inch of the wallet to make sure that there are no imperfections. Look for the interior plaque. Some fraudulent designers will neglect to insert a label on the inside of the wallet. Authentic Prada wallets will have "PRADA-MILANO" embossed on one side and "MADE IN ITALY" on the other. Also, ask the seller if they can

      product a certification of authenticity.
