One of the greatest natural events to ever happen in the world is the appearance of the rainbow. Rainbows include every color that we know and its magical apperance is a true sight to see. Rainbows are created when water hits the sunlight beaming down on the planet and a prism of each color is then created. Rainbow tattoos are colorful, unique, cute, beautiful, and meaningful. Rainbow tattoos can include the rainbow in its natural form or the colors of the rainbow can be added to several different tattoo symbols. In this article, we will explore all the symbols that can be done in rainbow colors. We will also learn the meanings behind the rainbow tattoo and you will have a chance to view rainbow tattoos to help you get an idea of what is available and what may be unique to you.

The rainbow tattoo can be designed with a variety of different symbols. This design is when the rainbow appears in its natural form. Rainbow tattoos can be designed with stars, moons, clouds, doves, flowers, or waterfalls. For example, if you added clouds, you would see two clouds at each end of the rainbow. This forms the popular "rainbow bridge". The rainbow bridge can be designed with stars or flowers also. It comes down to your choice. Some people may just include a number of stars surrounding the rainbow. The symbols above are some or the more popular ones that are chosen with rainbow tattoos. This is just to give you an idea of what is used. If you want to add your own symbol, that is your choice.

One advantage of the rainbow tattoo in its natural form is the size of the tattoo. This rainbow tattoo design can be done in a variety of different sizes. So if you prefer a small rainbow tattoo or a large rainbow tattoo, you won't have any issues with size. Since this rainbow tattoo design can be done in nearly any size, it can be placed in a variety of locations on the body. You could place it on your arm, wrist, legs, ankles. back, stomach, sides, shoulders, or neck. So if you want a small rainbow tattoo that can be covered when need be, the rainbow tattoo is perfect for you.

This rainbow tattoo design can even be considered as a "sexy" tattoo design. You may have a sexual connection with the rainbow tattoo and want to get it inked near the groin. The beauty of the rainbow tattoo gives it a sexy look that is sure to catch the eyes of others, if you want to that is. For a sexy rainbow tattoo, you may consider a rainbow bridge of hearts or a rainbow key and lock tattoo. Either way, you can't go wrong if this is what you are looking for.

When it comes to rainbow tattoos, there are plenty of options to consider. Since you can do so much with rainbow tattoos, you may want to choose a design that is unique to your characteristics or personality. If you are considering creating your own design, the rainbow tattoo is the route to go. For example, for starters, the colors of the rainbow make for a beautiful tattoo. Secondly, with all the options, you are sure to be able to create a design that will suit you perfectly. Some people get the colors of the rainbow inked down their arm or leg and they insert symbols inside the rainbow. You may want to consider a landscape tattoo with a rainbow crossing the sky. There are plenty of options that will allow you to be creative when it comes to rainbow tattoos. If you have your own ideas, tell your tattoo artist about them. Most of them will be willing to work with you.

RAINBOW TATTOO MEANINGS AND SYMBOLS

When it comes to the rainbow tattoo, there is symbolic value. Although many people choose the rainbow tattoo because it is a beautiful and unique tattoo, others may choose it for symbolic purposes. Below, you can find the meanings behind the rainbow tattoo.

  • Peace
  • Good Luck
  • Gay Pride
  • Beauty
  • Christianity
  • Elegant
  • Promise
  • Dreams
  • Love
  • Magical

Rainbow tattoos are mainly wore my women, but some men do get them inked as well. In fact, the rainbow has became a global symbol of the gay community. For this reason, most males are afraid to get a rainbow tattoo. But for those men in the gay community, the rainbow tattoo can symbolize their pride to be who they are. One rainbow tattoo design that is popular in the male gay community is the rainbow and unicorn tattoo. Other designs may include rainbows with double male or female symbols.

Another popular variation of rainbow tattoos is adding the colors of the rainbow into other tattoo symbols. And to be honest, nearly any tattoo symbol can be designed this way. Of course, some symbols are more fitting then others. Some of the more popular symbols include stars, hearts, butterflies, dragonflies, flowers, fairies, and the sun. With so many options available to you, it is no wonder that rainbow tattoos are popular like they are.

There are some important things you need to consider before you get your rainbow tattoo or any tattoo. You want to take the time to do research on your own. Take the time to view tattoo designs, ideas, and meanings. You want to make sure you fully understand what your tattoo represents and means. Don't rush to get inked! There are so many different people that get tattoos on an impulse. In most cases, they regret the tattoo later on down the road. Take your time, research, and find a design that you will like for the rest of your life. If you feel that the rainbow tattoo is not for you, be sure to follow the links below to view more tattoo symbols, designs, ideas, and meanings. Thanks for your visit.

Alastar, great question. I thought they were part of the tattoo at first, but after second look, I am not sure. I thought it was trail ink marks or art around the flower. It may have been tattooed over moles or it may have been a cover up tattoo. Most of the former tattoo may have been removed. To me, it almost looks like a cover up to a home tattoo. Looks like the first tattoo may have not been professionally done.

These rainbow tats are very interesting. Personally think they suit better small, but some of the bigger ones are cool too. Hey lyric, in the picture showing the girls upper left back with the multicolored and 3-D looking Rose, what are those mole looking things all around it if you know? Up and interestin my friend.

Thank you all for your comments, time, and votes. I am greatly thankful for you all. Alocsin, you are correct. The rainbow is a world wide symbol of the gay community. In fact, this is why many don't go with rainbow tattoos because they fear they will be portrayed as a gay, especially men. It is a girl symbol though. That is a good point though.

Certainly one of the more colorful tattoos. But can't the rainbow also signify that someone is gay, since the rainbow flag is a symbol of the movement? Voting this Up and Beautiful.
